I was lucky enough to have parents who didn't really understand hip hop but I always got yelled at for listening to Pac growing up because of the language - never took it away though.

I remember the day though that my mom bought me the Slim Shady LP and that one Bill Clinton line came up - my mom was :gladbron:

My parents let me listen to whatever. I don't know what I would have done if they took away my music!

I actually had vinyl albums my moms broke into pieces and threw in the trash....

I confronted her with one of her favorite songs she used to play when I was little....

My mom reading the tracklist:

"Watch Dem nikkas?! Take it in Blood?! What did you buy?!!!"

she let me keep it though.

I remember when my mom made me get rid of E. 1999 Eternal.

She thought it was :demonic: so it went in the trash

My mom threw Hip-Hop in the bushes :skip:

She hated it, therefore she had no clue on who and what I was listening to :jawalrus:

LMAO, this reminds me of my dad who used to try to pretend to be hip. He swore he was down with nelly cuz of them corny singy songs on the radio, he came into room once and I was listening to nelly. He tried to sit at my desk like :takedat: then I think Thicky Thick Girl came on, dude immediately went to :merchant: :sadcam: "why would he talk like that on the cd" lol

This album was sock-drawer status for me, I didn't even buy it I had borrowed it off my friend and I was going to burn a copy. Had it stashed in my top drawer and within 48 hours of me going back to find it, shyt was gone.

Pa dukes tossed it to me a couple weeks later on some "don't ever bring shyt like this into the house"

:snoop:

My dad would drop me off at school with this playing loud as hell

They always let me listen to what I wanted but cause they didn't have much money at the time it took forever for me to get a CD player.
