And that's the saddest part of this Kendrick, Drake, and J Cole thing.

J Coles story is a man coming to terms with his own mortality, and also his fans coming to terms with it. He's been working his ass off, but he doesn't have that dog in him.

Drake has it, but he's already dead to a real rapper. Dudes are saying he's just waiting, and maybe I'll be proven wrong this week, but let's be real. There is no world in which kendrick gets ethered by Drake.

Drake doesn't have the ability, and his ghost writers don't. They couldn't do it with Pusha T, and they for sure are not going to do it with Kendrick.

Even before this, Drake had an ESPN interview removed where he said Kendrick only makes music for his region, while he makes music for the world.

And I got to thinking, Jay-Z didn't have to deal with a top 3. He was going at it with Mobb Deep and the Dipset.

50 was getting chewed up by Jada.

The fact that this isn't happening now shows we're just wistful for an old era.

Let it go, it's over. It's probably never coming back.

I think J Cole still gets included in the top 3, because the idea that you have to murder your competition is outdated.

The apology he did will probably make him bigger, but he'll definitely have to pivot(or should) away from I'm the best, and just making deeper music

Hip-hop is not over because a fraud from Toronto and a fraud from the Carolinas got their card pulled.

They're not hip-hop cities.

Kendrik if anything held it down and stamped that.

People just need to stay in their lane.

Cole, Drake, and Harlow are of the same cloth. They fukked up by thinking they could enter an arena they had no business in 2 begin with.

Drake changed the whole landscape tho

And maybe it started once rap left NY and spread worldwide

It's not over, it still exists

But it's over as old dudes knew it

There's nobody in Kendricks peer group, other than Kendrick or Cole, who would take that diss personally and could do something about it

The competitiveness with rap disses just is not there any more

If it was, this shyt would have never been drawn out so long

Drake would have been torn apart a long time ago for the ghost writing

And Cole would have known he had to stand on it

And I'm not necessarily saying that it's a bad thing(I'm not saying it's good either)

The generation after theirs literally all they do is diss. Even if it is rooted in real life street beef.

All these drill guys are from legit cities that have a stamp in both street shyt and rap.

I'm not a fan but banging on wax for the 25 and under cloud is what makes them relevant today.

Cole and Drake should have never been in position 2 begin with.

Nah this is corny. It's lame to say oh they not from a hip hop city so they frauds and need to stay in their lane. The fukk is a hip hop city? Slick Rick is from motherfukkin England you gonna tell me he not hip hop??

DaBaby is from the Carolinas too and I thoroughly believe he would engage in beef if somebody tried it with him, win or lose. You can't disrespect a whole city/state/country because of what two cornball ass nikkas decided to pull

Agreed; but it's revealing that authenticity matters.

Drake and Cole have made a career from cosplaying and observing what goes on in other cities.

I think Cole even moved to NY at one point.

We're uncovering that having legit roots matters IMO.

Despite it being a social media create a player crakk baby era.

Its not working.

Slick rick may have been born in England but he is not from there. Thats like saying 21 aint from ATL.

You're ignorant.

Da baby was wearing a diaper and shooting people in a wal mart.

He literally has no hip-hop roots.

can you disprove that?

His reign on top was short like leprechaun anyway.

He made a bunch of sell out pop records.

He doesn't exist in 2k24.

If I'm ignorant you're a clown that posts too much. Actually, even if I'm not, you still are.

I'm not and never have been a DaBaby fan so the shyt you talking is stupid. You all over the place with this post and not addressing my point of the fact you can't judge an artist by where they're from. Pusha T is from Virginia, fakkit.

You out of your league arguing with me, take your L like the rest of these nikkas and fall in line. The nerve of you calling me ignorant

Pusha T and his family originate in the bronx. They have ties to the bronx. The entire VA scene was an extension of NYC.

You are ignorant.
