This is a deflection…
wow.
This is a deflection…
The coli:
sees a gay on tv - " the agenda is real, theyre making kids gay."
young black rappers doing nothing but dealing/using drugs and murdering other blacks - "no influence whatsoever, shame on you for thinking otherwise."
I’ll say it again, influenced them to do it? Nah, maybe for the weak minded, but it’s great theme music for it,. I’m not pointing fingers at rap music like I’m higher than thou either, all I listen to is rap music and r&b. We gotta admit this shyt absolute romanticizes it, some of these rappers literally do shyt like join gangs to be more authentic, that’s facts. How many nikkas , whether they blew up or not you think did some foul shyt to be looked at as more authentic in this rap shyt? That whole Florida beef with Foolio and them, is that not heavily fueled by what they saying on tracks?Did the Godfather or Sopranos encourage people to join the mafia? Did Boy George, Will and Grace or Tyler Perry movies encourage dudes to become fags?
Music and all the arts for that matter are just a reflection of what is going on in society. It doesn't make people do anything that they were not already inclined to do. Blaming rap music is just another way for society to blame the Black man for stuff. They used to do the same thing for Blues, Jazz and Rock and Roll. It was easier to blame the Black artists than to just admit that people are inclined to abuse substances or acknowledge that a lot of women are promiscuous. Then all of a sudden it becomes alright when White people start playing that music.
instead of addressing the real problems nikkas want to scapegoat rap because they don’t like the music of today
You don’t get that rap promotes the culture that made kids want to sell those drugs and use those guns.also bcuz it’s easier to blame the music…the irony is someone said bringing up institutional racism is a deflection lol…no fixating on rap is the deflection…the government has literally flooded certain neighborhoods with more drugs than any rapper has ever spoken about…the impacts of which are still felt today…crates of guns are still being “randomly” dropped off in certain neighborhoods…how do you ignore something like that? the problem is there is no easy fix for that to the point of it being depressing at times…but it’s easier to paint rap as a major culprit and pretend something can be done about it…as someone said tho…if you completely eradicate hip hop, many of our problems will still remain bcuz they were always there well before hip hop became an influence in the culture
You don’t get that rap promotes the culture that made kids want to sell those drugs and use those guns.
Both of y’all is right I’m from the suburbs of Chicago so we got super hood suburbs and nice middle class to upper middle class black areas us in the hood wanted to stunt, help our parents out or wanted to sell drugs because our older cousins did and we seen them get the women and niqqas in upper middle class areas sold drugs to stunt even tho they had parents they had nice careers and grew up in nice areas they still wanted to sell drugs niqqas would be in areas like Olympia Fields,Matteson, homewood and flossmoor wanted to sell drugs and gang bang the shyt would have me likeMy experience is different. Most of the drug dealers I knew as kids were not piss poor. They were not hustling to keep the lights on. They were hustling to stunt. In the early 2000s that street life was glorified
