Somewhere tropic...
I've said it before, 2013 has been a really mediocre year. It happens. Next year may spark a shift.

Has nothing to do with being :flabbynsick:..The shyt is real. When you got New York dudes rocking camo shorts, tank tops and vans, dudes from the Bay rocking tank tops, camo shorts and vans, :skip: dudes from Dallas rocking the same thing and dudes in Georgia rockin the same thing it's a problem. That's exactly what's happened to rap music and rock music today. There used to be a thing called "southern rock" . Bands like Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, Lynard Skynard etc. There are hardly any today. Outside of Gov't Mule I can't think of any. The culture that produced that music is :dead:..
So 10 years ago nikkas from NY, Cali, Georgia, etc wasnt all wearing jerseys baggy pants and jordans?:skip:

This year has been one of the most disappointing years in memory for me.

Wale, Cole, ASAP, Jayz, Drake, Kanye, Krit all drop projects. None will be even considered classic in the future. Some are dope but no one really TOOK it there this year.

You guys spend entirely too much time 'ranking' shyt around here. Worrying about 'well how will this album sound in 4 years after Obama's term as President is up and policy changes in America make it a different place. Is it going to be classic?'

The year isn't over. A lot of good music has been put out. We are just starting the 4th quarter when we get hit with a ton of music.

I've learned to quit complaining and just accept that things change

And besides, I'm still able to find rap music that I enjoy..it may be some new shyt, or it may be some shyt that I slept on that may have came out a few years ago

I actually feel much better about rap now than I did in say 2006-2008 period. Back then the only artists popping were dudes that had already been in the game for a while. I mean Lupe and Ross were the only new dudes out back then who were worth anything. 2009-2011 saw an influx of new cats that I can fukk with A$AP, TDE, Odd Future, Vince Staples, Curren$y(although he really isn't new), Dom Kennedy etc.

Yeah
We def don't have any super stars in music period anymore like we use to. Unless you could say Gaga was the latest one.

As far as hiphop the last one was Kanye and before that was 50 cent.

You are just having a hardtime adjusting much like businesses/industries did with technology.

Rap in 2013 is in great hands. Cole, Wale, Drake, Tyler, Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, Jay and Yay, Ace Hood, French, Big Sean and 2chainz all dropped this year. Aside from Meeks DC3 & maybe MMLP2 ...I personally haven't been this spoilt in years

So we're gonna ignore 2011 Take Care's hype and make Drake into the star he is today. And the fact that NWTH has already leaked and yet people are catching on and praising it before the album is officially out yet?

No not even that. What about the fact of Carter 3 that made Wayne rule 2008 in music PERIOD with an iron fist? You forgetting those?

Ignore these hating fools. These are the same guys that stopped listening to rap in like 2005 when South completely took over.. They don't know better.
