The affect you are referring to (I assume) operates the way it does because the shape of the earth.

The equator spins faster than the poles since it is larger.

As a result you have the weather patterns we see, for example hurricane due and higher up the jet stream that affects travel time.

Jet streams are the product of two factors: the atmospheric heating by solar radiation that produces the large scale Polar, Ferrel, and Hadley circulation cells, and the action of the Coriolis force acting on those moving masses. The Coriolis force is caused by the planet's rotation on its axis. On other planets, internal heat rather than solar heating drives their jet streams. The Polar jet stream forms near the interface of the Polar and Ferrel circulation cells; while the subtropical jet forms near the boundary of the Ferrel and Hadley circulation cells.[2]

As I was saying earlier to coriolis effect is a result of a round earth. Actually these affects happen on the other round planets that we observe and send pretty ships to. :TrumpedYa:

They make no mention of said atmosphere interacts with the edge of the vacuum of space, and people such as yourself are to pseudo-intellectual to even think to ask about it

Don't try and spin this jnto you're trying to teach people the theories behind why the earth is flat.

That said, flat earth theory doesn't pass the eye test.
