I run 10 on the regular now, I literally just ran 10 miles this morning, and I’m just going to say I don’t believe him. Every single day?

I don’t believe him either. 70 miles per week would have him looking like distance (physically) and unless he had a solid recovery plan he would break down in month or less. You can look at his body and tell he’s not putting up that much miles of any + his entire lower body would have a very distinctive look on that kinda mileages.

And his shoulders would be squared off with a smaller/slimmer but defined upper body. This shyt is a dead giveaway.

Your regular non pro runner or sub elite is doing 50-85 mile weeks and it’s not easy. Maybe he’s running that shyt at 15 min pace and that would be incredibly slow. No regular runner doing 50-85 miles a week would run that “schedule” with no track/speed days and no off days. It just doesn’t make sense.

I put up 17 today in a little over 2hrs so dude is all cap.

He’s lucky if he’s doing 25 miles a week.

He's going to need a knee replacement soon

Running isn’t bad for your knees breh. Maybe someone who’s is 300lbs+ would need it. Runners joke that literally everything but their knees hurts because it’s true. Believe me, the knees are fine and like running once you get your weight and running mechanics in order.

We could have a whole thread this shyt so brehs can get out there, get right and get these miles.

He doesn't look like an endurance runner.

So what about the whole when you run on concrete the weight of your body is amplified onto your knees. Is that a myth?

Yes you are putting 2x the force of your body on the ground when you “hit” it but the entire leg is absorbing the impact — not just the knees.

Now, how you run is a factor. A veteran runner is running on their forefoot and mid foot and limiting the impact their heel makes against the ground. And they are bringing their legs back up quickly which also limits the impact on the ground (energy return).

Next you’ll notice most distance runners are running on asphalt (the street). It’s a more forgiving surface than concrete/cement. Or if they have access they are on crushed gravel/dirt surfaces.

But proper running mechanics are key along with having your weight in order. 300lbs dude and 150lb dude aren’t making the same impact in the ground and 150lb dude doesn’t have to lift up 150 more lbs at each step. It matters also. So don’t let your heel hit the ground on every step — even when you’re walking. Your heel hitting the ground hard all the damn time is more of a risk factor to your legs than running is for your knees.

Yeah and he is really bloated too. If he’s doing that daily he shouldn’t look that way. He should be well defined like you said

I run 10 miles like 2 days a week, and others I just do like 2 miles with a weighted vest. I’m going to run a marathon 4th quarter this year

And this guy who is always running marathons and stuff does speed/track days and has days off

The Truth
Ain’t no damn way man. 10 miles a day is absurd :laff:
The everyday part is the most absurd..

And does he have a shooting range in his backyard? Is he back there tearing his gun down and piecing it back together while timing himself? Is he making his own bullets (because ammo prices have gone up) and shooting for 5 hours a day every day because that gets expensive.

He must be talking about doing all this on a oculus :mjlol:

Good point and thanks for the tips.

You say the entire leg absorbs the impact, but the knee is made of bone and cartilage from my understanding. The rest of the legs have muscle to support the impact. Joints do not have muscles to support them obviously

My knees were hurting when I first started doing it. Felt like it was a pain on the inside of my left knee. I don’t feel anything anymore. I still wear my absorber though. But reading running forums and stuff that’s just apart when you first start running like that

The goal is for your upper and lower leg to be strong. Your knee has no muscle just like the elbow. Strong legs and bones matter. shyt your entire skeleton is like 20lbs so the bones can take a lot of impact if you take care of yourself.

So an overweight person is putting their bone thru hell because it’s not like your bones magically grow because you get fat.

Someone doing legit distance running is a balance of muscle and bone with very little fat. Your body can’t do shyt with fat on a run so it will get burnt the more you stick with running. Your body need strong blood flow, Rona do oxygen in that blood, water (which is in your muscle so drink tons do water) and fuel — carbs/protein. This is all a formula in conjunction with your weight. But after a while you just know it by feel. Your body will tell you what I needs. That also applies to aches and pains. Proper recovery is just as important as fueling and getting strong.

But the lighter you are on your feet the less impact
