That Bridge performance last year with Saigon, royal Flush, Trag, Poet when Trag and Mega started arguing about the QB sound and Trag said "Mega you ain't even from QB." Mobb held onto their core sound longer (HNIC was the first time you heard Mobb over beats that were "current"). The track with 112 was a clear attempt to soften their sound and get radio play. "Kill any misconception that you got of Mobb Deep" still makes me physically ill to hear that line

It's Mine video was definitely a standard issue Hype WIlliams video for the time - so I see your point, but outside of the hook, it wasn't geared for radio.

No. I would describe it like I did above.
It's similar to Street Dreams to me. Only thing mainstream about the song is the hook. And even then its just Nas singing...not some real R&B type crossover.
Both got glitzy videos.
