Being a NYer and in certain circles, I 'dealt' with and dated quite a few WI's, Trinis specifically. I didn't seek them out, thats just who presented themselves, to the point I could assume dude was Trini if he came over to talk.

Anyway, the reason I didn't walk away heart broken and bedraggled, as many do , was because I treated it the same way they did, as fun until I met my person who, naturally, I expected to be of my own ethnicity. Wasn't no ADOS yet, so I framed it as 'his ppl gotta be from NC/SC like mine'.

A lot of us really bought into that 'we have no culture' shyt, thats what makes us easy pickings, a lack of pride. We too quick to jump over to somebody else shyt: anime/ kpop fans, divestors/ passport bros, 'go back to Africa' pan Africanists, damn 'Aboriginal Americans'/ Moors, and yes, marrying a foreign bp because they have some amorphous 'culture' that you feel you lack. I've seen us exoticize and pedestalize foreign bp and they play along bc its to their advantage. My brother married a WI and... it did not go smoothly.

That accounts for alot of FBA nyers. I need to do a thread or a thinking session, as to why that is. It doesnt make sense on paper

Not all Nigerians have the same mentality in dealing with America or American women. It varies and it is wild to me that people want to stereotype the behavior of a decent number of men based off of some situations. Some men are trifling. This occurs across many groups so I'm surprised to see this aimed at only Nigerians in this thread when it occurs with other groups and races. Some got into fake relationships with the American women under the pretense that all it would be is a fake relationship and get pressured and trapped into a real relationship by the lady. Yes that happens. Sometimes they have regular relationships. Sometimes it is the same shyt that goes on the world over in various countries among various races. It happens.

False. I'm an HBCU grad and I've never seen AA women with African men on campus. You're much more likely to see AA women and Jamaican men but even that is rare. We prefer our own.
