most of these dudes didn't have the charisma or personality to make it in any era, gibbs for example was signed at the height of the thug era and made far less impact then, then he has in this era
Wasn't he signed in like 2007? Thats right when shyt had already changed. The last album that marks the end of the thug era for me was Beanie Sigel's B. Coming and then Thug Motivation 101. Right after that was when Trap music was really starting to come full circle and Lil Wayne started poppin and all dance music was comin up...It's Going Down, Pop Lock and Drop it...etc etc.

If KRIT didn't confuse us which album was a mixtape, and which one was a studio album, maybe fans would focus more whenever he drops a song
i'll be honest...i still haven't checked out his official debut yet, but if people were really foolish enough to think his album would be as good as his mixtapes with all the samples that he uses, then i don't even know what to say? there's a reason why rappers release way better mixtapes than they do albums now. you don't have to worry about any sample clearance issues. i agree that he would be alot more fit for the 90's tho.
he completely reminds me of that old ugk/ball and g/three six sound.

Yea I wasnt even surprised the album was just okay. What disappointed me was the ensuing mixtape king remembered in time.

If Fashawn, Skyzoo, and Blu came out in the late 90s when Rawkus Records movement was strong, they would have benefited more:yeshrug:

skimming thru this thread, and i hate to rain on peoples parades but yall gotta see the big picture.

sure, alot of these names would be a better stylistic fit for the '90s, but most of them would be irrelevant.

i like joey badass, but i wouldnt be checking for him nearly as much, if at all if he was out in the '90s. too many people doing what he does but better.
