Saigon was my favourite rapper in 2005. A shame what happened but it was actually a good time. I think him and Papoose could've changed the face of rap if it wasnt for poor mgmt and kept this shyt in NY.

If the greatest story never told came out in 2005 like it was suppose to, Saigon would have an undeniable classic under his belt. For 2010 the production sounded a little dated which hurt people's appreciation of it cause it dropped out of its era. But it was still a tremendous album

Jay Rock would be waaaaaay bigger than Kendrick if TDE came out in the 90s

Gibbs was the first name that came to mind.

He'd be Tupac status if he dropped in the 90s, they both have that ignorance laced with charisma about them and their deliveries are both gritty and passionate.

I can't feel too bad for these nikkas though cause their internet buzz made it where they're getting
way more for a show now off mixtape songs than platinum artists in the 90s were getting.

Like Schoolboy Q gets 10k a show, with no album out. There's nikkas who was gold and platinum in the 90s not even getting half of that.

Social networking is a huge part of that, its the information highway. the 90s didn't have that. so now an artist could put out a mixtape and as long as they're popular or have a good enough fanbase everywhere, they can make a good amount of cash. theres artist who are/could sell out 5k capacity venues on the opposite side of the country now with a mixtape out because the internet got their buzz all the way out there.

Yeah freddie gibbs is cold as fukk but like you said he came up in the wrong era.

This is the abosolute worst time to be a rapper as hardcore as gibbs. nikkas in this generation are too busy dikkriding rappers that sound like they're from another planet.

most of these dudes didn't have the charisma or personality to make it in any era, gibbs for example was signed at the height of the thug era and made far less impact then, then he has in this era
