Here's my post. Blackball basically means you have powerful people telling other powerful people to not work with you.

Gucci Mane was blackballed early during the Jeezy beef but fought thru it with Chicken Talk.

Three 6 has infamously blackballed Yo Gotti and other Memphis rapper back in the day.

Danny Boy, Outlawz and pretty much all of the Death Row acts outside of Snoop once Suge got locked up.

Shawty Lo got it when he beefed with TI and because his management taxed promoters for shows when his album dropped.

Master P shut down lots of stuff for Pastor Troy.

Clipse had to do the We Got It 4 Cheap series because of Jive gave them the cold shoulder.

Roscoe Dash caught it after complaining about writing credits for Wale & Kanye.

50 was post-Columbia until he started dropping mixtapes. He somewhat blackballed now musically but he has money from other ventures so they can't shut him down.

Murder Inc got blackballed after the 50 beef and the FBI raid. Lyor nem made sure they didn't get the number one record with Lloyd by messing with the numbers.

Cam & Dipset caught it from Jay and got his album delayed.

Jay also blocked Chris Brown after the Rihanna incident.

Kerri Hilson after dissing Beyonce.

Amerie caught it to make way for Beyonce.

French Montana was because of the DVDs and had to come to Atlanta to pop off.

August Alsina after the 106 & Park incident. Same with Webbie.

Ras Kass because of Priority.

Eazy E because of going against Dr. Dre and in turn Bryan Turner & Jimmy Iovine.

Mannie Fresh after he left Cash Money.

Master P has been since the 00's.

Jeremih is in a similar position now where he makes songs that are clearly hits, but it's obvious that the machine isn't pushing those songs at all. They should be smashes and instead he has to rely on word of mouth.

Pretty much the only people that can survive being blackballed as an artist are people like Jeremih & Keri who are in-demand as great writers or producers. Same reason R. Kelly wasn't able to be blackballed. The artists who depend on others are all but done.
