Bone went Gold in 07 and had a hit with Akon , I don't think they got black balled they just suck at business. Dre was gonna sign them to aftermath but he wasn't gonna do it without bizzy. The new waves album could of worked on a major, but dropping a pop album on e1 was pointless. It wasn't gonna appeal to their base so they needed a major push.

Fbg Duck, dude had 2 songs with over 20 million views, and countless others with millions of views as well. Couldn't even get a KaySlay interview, thats when you know, something aint right.
He had just signed a deal was was starting to bubble before he died.

Not getting an interview with a DJ that's probably never heard of you isn't the same as being blackballed.

On the opposite end of the spectrum I always kind of wondered how Nas didn’t end up blackballed for dissing Hot 97 the way he did in 02. Dude said that Angie was TERRIBLE as a rapper, that Flex was a homo, and that Roc-A-Fella scattered like ROACHES when Ether dropped. He straight up said that Wendy Williams was slaughtering Angie in the ratings and she was gonna get fired.

I mean all Ghostface did was yell “fukk Hot 97!” At Summerjam and they got banned from the airwaves but Nas was RIGHT back on Hot 97’s rotation as soon as Made You Look dropped.

Why would someone need to blackball him?
This is actually a stupid question no offense

Chicago wise it’s a war between the BDs and GDs although they act like it’s not because of certain deaths on each side. BD Rappers have been the ones getting hot and putting back guns in Chicago for their lil homies to go at the opps. GD Rappers have been struggling to garner the same national success although having regional success like Duck and Lil Jay. Famous Dex blew the fukk uo and was supposed to do what Sosa did for the BDS, for the GDs but Dex as soon as he blew up denounced the banging shyt and started lying

lil b.

But I think that was whole the point of his career :banderas:

Still can’t believe I’ve never heard a lil b song on the radio or video on TV considering his influence on rappers today

Same goes with Charles Hamilton :manny:

Nas had allies at Power 105 whereas when Wu-Tang popped off at Hot 97, Hot 97 was the only station really that was hip-hop first. KISSFM and WBLS leaned more towards R&B. Without Power 105, Nas might not have been on NY radio anymore, but Power 105 was new and had no problem going up against Hot 97. Why would Power 105 care that Nas hated Hot 97? If anything they loved it. Clear Channel definitely loved it.

Nas also eventually went back to Hot 97 and apologized. They accepted it probably knowing that Nas doing what he did was out of character for him whereas Ghostface was born an a$$hole.
