it's funny cause he'll say shyt like this

so he'll believe some shyt said on discord but will :unimpressed: about other people's ghostwriter allegations that's been going around the industry for a long time

You should probably take a break from this site.

You picking fights this early in the day and I don't even know what you're referring to.

Plus I very clearly said "idk what to believe".

Edit - just read what you quoted, you really held onto some shyt I said days ago? Lmfao.

Thats not what ghostwriting is

I'm aware of what ghostwriting is. What I'm saying is there are different levels but almost everyone has spit shyt they didn't write.

On the far end you got Dre and Puff who basically getting every word they spit written for them and they don't even attempt to hide it. And no one cares because they producers and don't claim to be great rappers

Then you got the Kanye who getting a ton of his shyt written for him but he try to pass it off as his own because he wanna be seen as a "real MC"

But even top rappers fully capable of writing their own songs have had shyt written for them or had cowriters here and there. A lot of tracks come with the hook already written for example. Or someone brings a track complete with verses and hook and maybe the artist rewrites 90% but keep some of the original bars and the hook. Or they let their protege or some dudes from the crew write a verse here or there. Point is the number of rappers that wrote every line in their catalog by themselves is close to zero

These dudes need new ideas. They are selling music not trying to make classics for the hip hop nerds

Do y’all think ghostwriting is about clever bars and multis?

Starting a verse, melody, song structure, verse structure, quotable

all artist need help with those elements of songwriting

Metaphors and multis are not why people have writers. No one cares about that stuff

You have no understanding of hiphop culture.
or the business of music at all.

No you are not talking about a real emcee.
No real emcee is letting anything ever be wrote for them.

Ghostwriting can moreso be about a "vibe" where the template is set and the artist works within the template to adjust as he sees fit..

Ain't no vibe.

Nobody is supposed to be writing for you.
Maybe the hook if you are allowing in taboo rnb singers. Which is another discussion entirely.
Yet verse to verse. No one is supposed to be writing for you. Biting is not allowed.
Unless you giving relevant in bar credit to the person who made the saying. Which is seldom if ever. Past that..there is no help.

Stop the pass making.
It never existed.
Those passes are why we having these discussions and the lack of real skilled emcees exist.
