Nah Fat Joe might be the most improved rapper ever. His first album he was worse than basic. By his second album he was actually good. And now he's a solid rapper. Nothing spectacular but miles ahead of his debut.
I know Fat Joe got more popular in the 2000s, but peak Fat Joe for me is in 1998 when he released Don Cartagena. I can say that is an album that I play the entire way through. His 2nd verse on the title track is still my favorite by him. He may be fat, but he floated on that shít.

You better slide or catch this homicide/ain't no match for joey crack, I'm blowin' backs out the other side.......

Agreed.

I still f*ck with his first three albums heavily. But Don Cartagena was his best work.

Pun wrote that whole album and we could tell immediately, back then. That's a classic, for me.
