I don't really "respect" any of these guys enough to actually lose respect for them. Unlike most people, I just look at entertainers as entertainers; I'm not expecting these guys to be leaders of society or social activists.
I agree wholeheartedly 100%. I enjoy the music...but I honestly after Common's "extend a hand to end racism" comments...followed by an uncanny string of racially charged events happening, the dude in my mind could not of played himself out worse.

What about Common disappoints yall? Just curious. Gotta be related to him blowing up mainstream, whether yall admit it or not. Just asking.
read the post above this one.

I can't even believe Common...this Common now...is the same Common that dropped "Resurrrection", "One Day It Will All Make Sense", and "Like Water For Chocolate". Some of his more conscious and politically charged songs are so great they go beyond hip-hop. And he's always had those dope lines that were nonchalantly put out there, in the company other other intruging lines...like this

("still together...like in the ghetto photo with one n!gga in a chair...holding liquor in despair gang signs in the air...")1-9-9-9.

Is the same one who got bytchmade and became the safe rapper. Even Ice Cube, who parallels Com in alot of ways, can still tap into that aware and conscious vibe even after all of the success he had.

I see the bytch in yoo...when you don't speak your mind.

I'll speak my mind...that oscar went to his head.

Same thing happened to 3-6. Look at Juicy J. He said he wouldnt do a 36M reunion for less than $6 million dollars.

I'm not expecting rappers...who are indeed mortals and men like you and i...to stay the same from 25-40. THings change, we have differnt priorities then compared to now...but damn, his comments and actions are that of a complete mainstream robot and honestly a soft effeminate emasculated bytch nikka nowadays. This is not the Common I remember. Or maybe he was always fake...I don't know.

I think Eminem racist tapes I lost pretty much all respect for him after that. I disagreed with some of his content previously and thought he was overrated but the racist tapes and the subsequent music being extremely awful also was really a complete loss of respect.
People really like to forget EM said that shyt...huh?

I know he says he was young, angry, making it as a joke to share with him and his friends, and claims he moved on...but that was really disgusting and just absolutely unacceptable.

I never thought Eminem had a racist bone in his body until I heard that stuff...I still respect him, I just cant consider myself as much of a fan of his after hearing that.

What did Com do? :dwillhuh:
Fresh off of winning an Oscar for Selma, Common must have been initiated into the “New Blacks Society” and didn’t even tell us. During a recent appearance on The Daily Show, Common spoke about racism and how helpful black people could be to white people if we just extended a hand in love.

Why must these black celebrities forget exactly where they come from. I’d like to see Common tell people in the Chicago neighborhood he grew up in how black people should eradicate racism.

I’m sure they’d look at him like he was crazy.

How is extending a hand to white people going to help end racism, when a lot of racist white people won’t even shake a black person’s hand? Believe me, I’ve had my hand shake denied several times by the racist people I’ve encountered. Even if he was being figurative, I honestly believe there’s nothing black people can do to eradicate racism. It’s not our job. Because we didn’t start it.

Basically it was Pharell's new black BS times ten.

I'm pretty sure he feels stupid now. One would think that someone who released an album like this.
