1 On Earth As It Is...- Beat is dark but it's not very good. Kinda boring and plotting.
2 Anything Goes- Always liked this beat but it wasn't spectacular
3 Marinatin'Producer – Liked this beat
4 Reelishymn Like this beat
5 Nature Of The Threat - Ehh beat
6 Etc - I like this beat but could've been better
7 Sonset - Good beat
8 Drama - Good beat
9 The Evil That Men Do - Love this beat
10 If/Then– Beat is okay
11 Miami Life - Love this beat
12 Soul On Ice - Like this beat
13 Ordo Abchao (Order Out Of Chaos) - Decent beat

Soul On Ice stands as a decent album to listen to now, but it came right in the middle of albums that were blowin' MFs away... there's lots of albums that had good beats, it falls into that category. But a dude like Ras at that time needed some out-and-out incredible beats... had none of those. The 'Soul on Ice' remix being evidence that Ras worked best with HEAT.

I will add, though, 'Miami Life' beat was :obama:

I thought the beats were cool, Doe or Die gets the same criticism and I thought the production was straight there too for the most part.

:manny:

Marinatin' beat is :banderas:

:comeon: I fukked with Soul On Ice when it dropped, and I think it gets an unfair rap with regard to its production, but there were at least a dozen albums in '96 alone that were easily better. Even in his own crew, Xzibit's debut was better.

No lie an album full of beats in that caliber would have been unfair.

He flossed all over the Diamond D remix man... Blew my tiny brain away when I was smaller.

The video alone is ingrained into my mind.

"But in the millennium, this cream turns electronic. UPC bar codes on the hands is demonic" :wow:

1) It was reviewed in 1995, so 1996 albums being better doesn't really matter to what he said
2) You're looking at things after the fact, Nature of the Threat was some unheard of shyt at the time it happened. Now that track doesn't hold the same weight 20 years later, but at the time I'm sure it blew them away
3) Lyrically no album since Soul on Ice is better than it.
4) Xzibit's debut damn sure ain't better than Soul on Ice

I respect your opinions on hip hop, and based on lyrics , I'd be pressed to find something more substantial...

Lets make it clear though, in your opinion no album is lyrically more precise than SOI? :wow: :whew:
