I'm having a friendly debate with some white dude on a FB FF page over a trade I made on one of my teams.
One team manager proposed to trade me JSN + Trey Henderson for Chase Brown and I accepted. The white dude said that I lost that trade and I vehemently disagreed.
My thing is this...
Obviously, the team manager needed an upgrade @ RB. I didn't necessarily need the players offered, BUT...
What I am receiving adds depth @ WR and I believe that Trey Henderson can have a breakout rookie season and could be in serious contention for ROTY not to mention he has an excellent matchup against the Raiders @ home Week 1!
I am gambling on Trey Henderson. My roster is as follows:
10 team 0.5 PPR league:
QB-Bo Nix
WR-P. Nacua*
WR-A.Brown*
RB-J.Taylor*
RB-T. Henderson
TE-T. Warren
Flex-JSN*
K-T. Loop
DEF- Pittsburg
Bench:
QB-K. Murray
WR-Tet McMillan
WR-D. Smith
RB-R. Harvey
RB-J. Warren
TE. Z. Ertz
*-Can't Cut List
I decided to drop J. Dobbins to make the trade. I didn't want to, but I am taking a gamble that R Harvey will eventually take over during the course of the season or JK Dobbins will get hurt.
The debate is simply that the two I am receiving doesn't equal to what I am giving up which I vehemently disagree.
I believe that Trey's potention could match or exceed what C. Brown production this season. Is it a fact? Of course not! But, to have 4 "can't drop players" on one starting roster is wild, plus I got Tet and D. Smith? That's a cold WR Corps and from my experience in winning leagues, having a strong WR Corps will help win matchups and Championships. I believe that I took a slight loss @RB, but it's slight!
We still going back and forth, but I told him that I have C. Brown in many(no exaggeration) leagues. This trade is in one league only, so I can afford to take the gamble and see what happens. BTW, the trade is still pending and will either go through after midnight today or not. Either way, I am good!
