This. I voted 10 because of the manga, but I can admit that the quality of the anime has had it's ups and downs. It's been improving with the Wano arc though.
One Piece is a very strong contender for the GOAT shonen. It has top-tier world-building, laugh-out-loud humor, emotional moments (including shocking deaths later on), and it didn't waste 90 percent of the characters the way DBZ or Naruto did (by turning into "the Goku and Vegeta show" and "the Naruto and Sasuke show").
One Piece has GOAT level foreshadowing, too. EVERY major storyline gets built up well in advance, sometimes by hundreds of chapters.
Jinbei is mentioned early on in the series, way before he actually shows up.
The Marineford War, Ace's capture, Sabo still being alive, Sanji's backstory, the Wano Country, and the breakdown of the Merry-- all of these character arcs and plot points are all foreshadowed whole arcs in advance.
Characters from early arcs like Buggy, Crocodile, Hatchan, Coby, Princess Vivi, etc. are still relevant to events happening currently.
The writing is just on a whole different level compared to the average shonen, and One Piece is without a doubt the best of the Big 3 by far. It's slept on in the west because the 4kids dub was
.I know a lot of people are going to say Naruto and Bleach are better, but I just can't agree.
IMO Naruto fell off when they made his whole character all about saving Sasuke and they turned Naruto into the chosen one. The OG series built Naruto up to be this down-on-his-luck character who came from nothing and beat the odds. He wasn't like all those other guys from their fancy-pants bloodlines, he was supposed to be the underdog. Making Naruto this hero of destiny who's descended from all of these legendary people totally destroys the whole moral lesson and the entire point of his character development in that first part. Shippuden's only saving graces for me are the fight scenes, Shikamaru, and Naruto wifing Hinata at the end.
As for Bleach, that series was
status to me after the Soul Society arc. For all my issues with Naruto, at least I can tell you what his ultimate goals are.EDIT: Look at the love OP gets in Japan. That mess is like Marvel/Starwars status over there. Amusement parks, life-sized statues of the characters, men's magazine covers...

9. Removed 1 point because Oda is the pump fake god. Tired of him off panelling battles. Otherwise this anime narratively shyts on most if not all shounen. Wano Act 1 and 2 are better than some series and this isnt even Odas magnus opus.
