Was reading the manga, thought it was WAAAY too soon to animate it. May check it out, but I know it's not gonna have a real ending.

Ninja Scroll is exactly what people claim Akira is. shyt, Akira isn't even really that good, just eye opening to the genre and influential because of it.

I would give it to 8 solid anime series. This anime made the studio went bankrupt is probably why we won't get to see Season 2.
