Aiight the 1st thread was a good turnout. With 123 votes for a 10 and 1 vote for a 7, Michael Jackson scored a 9.975. Good way to kick off the series for the goat. Next up, we have Mr. Controversy himself, Chris mf Breezy.

We'll be voting on artistry and all that entails:

  • Live Vocals
  • Stage Presence
  • Album Quality
  • Classic Hits
  • Flexibility to do different genres
  • Longevity
  • Legacy
  • Poll will last 24 hours
  • Votes will be displayed publicly
  • Votes will be added up and a final score will be given

hate to say it but he peaked almost two decades ago. Too much fukkery. Has all the ingredients to be this generation's MJ or Bobby Brown, but he's just there. I hate to use twitter or social media as a metric, but there's a noticeable difference when your Kendrics, Futures, J Cole (Ick) and others drop, but with Chris it's barely an afterthought.

Longevity for sure
Top live performer
Flexibility

Discography is massive
May not have the classic album everyone covets, but always working and out here

Sold records in the early digital age in a time when RnB was not selling

Did that dumb shyt with Rihanna, which should’ve been career suicide and came back stronger and with better music
‘10, ‘11, ‘12….In My Zone, FAME, Fan of a Fan, Boy in Detention probably his best run

I'll give him a 7. He's supremely talented but I feel like he's a bit sloppy. He relies heavily on his past work and doesn't put a lot of creative effort into his albums. His focus is always singles.

"go crazy" never topped the charts? That song was and still is fire.

Breezy seem to always come back out of nowhere with a hot verse for the radio and for the aux cord

Imagine if he didn’t beat Rihanna up :wow: Think that really messed up his creative work after that. Idk he’s a great performer to this day but his singing was never impressive as well as his music. I’m guessing he would’ve peaked regardless of the scandal he had but we’ll never know now.

I feel like rank number 4 should be Below Average instead of Good. Chris Brown is a cool dancer, but overall I don't think he's a good artist.

Because he's well spoken of and his chart entries, I was inclined to vote average, however, that would imply I think he's good due to the polls ranking.

9.

First two albums are classics.

In My Zone
Fan of a Fan
In My Zone 2
Boy in Detention

Is a forgotten about mixtape run that saved his career imo. Then he topped that era off with FAME which hasn't aged as gracefully as his first two albums but still a fire ass listen today.

Heart Break on a Full Moon is also a classic and legendary in its own right. That was damn near 40 tracks with ZERO SKIPS. :damn:

There's enough music on there that it could have been broken up into two separate back to back classic releases and I think that would have had people looking at his resume differently.

Indigo was another album filled with heaters that has a classic album in there if you pick 14 of your favorite songs off it.
