So far in this thread Seems like the ones who actually live in Detroit give the city a low rating but the ones who just visit give it a decent rating:jbhmm:

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
These threads are pointless. Most folks here are of immature minds. They only thing they care about is how good the women of said city look like. No discussion about business opportunities, property value, food, weather, culture, job opportunities, police brutality, etc. Just rate a city based on the women and maybe factor in the nightlife. That's it.

this is why I have an account on city data and also follow skyscraper city. If I want to discuss those topics I’ll post on those sites.

As crazy as this may sound, I’m giving Detroit a solid 7. You’d think it’ll be lower than Bmore since Baltimore at least looks like it got more interesting stuff to get into, but Detroit is a very special case.

This city has underwent a transformation decades in the making that’s relatively unique for an American city.

A majority of the city looks very old school suburban with random concrete pockets and enclaves with endless urban prairies but D nikkas are some of the most concrete jungle ass Black folks you’ll ever come across in America.

They got a very storied legacy with street hustling and pimping, whether you fukk with it or not.

Birthplace of the auto industry, which I have mixed feelings towards because Henry Ford basically stole the blueprints of the automobile from a breh and the auto industry is one of the main reasons for why public transportation in this country is in such a shytty state compared to the rest of the so called developed world.

Birthplace of Techno, a unique dance culture with the Jitters, one of the hardest Hip Hop scenes ever, contemplating giving it an 8 because of J Dilla alone, forever blessed Da Culture with Motown Records, one of the hardest Rock scenes in the country, etc.

A very unique contrast between urban decay, industrial grit, dystopia, and nature that’s almost beautiful in an eerie way.

Detroit Black folks are some of the most super pro-Black MFers you’ll ever meet and no offense but they are one of the very few Black Midwesterners who could rival the swag and style of East Coast Black folks with hardly any effort.

The largest predominantly Black metropolis in America. Black folks across the country should really invest in this city. A boom in Black businesses both small AND big could do wonders to Detroit’s battered economy and crazy crime rate...More jobs you got for a lot of people, the smaller the crime rate will gradually be. It could possibly be a Black Mecca on a level that not even DC and ATL have ever seen. And the fact that much of its police force is mostly Black :wow: Unlike Chicago and STL, you hardly ever hear anything about police violence in The D. This is one American city and Black metropolis that I wanna see win so fukking bad moe. It still angers my spirit with what these POS Cacs have done to the city all because they can’t stand being around the GOAT group of people to have ever walked the Earth :camby::rudy:

Now I’m really contemplating giving this city an 8 now.

If Baltimore’s rating is that low so far, imagine what Detroit’s will look like...

Contrary to popular belief, Detroit sleeps Baltimore in almost every way on paper. It's a bigger city, more international (literally sits on an international border and has a more diverse ethnic balance in its metro), and its cultural footprint on America is multiple times larger than what Baltimore has contributed...

Anybody who blindly thinks Baltimore is the stronger city has to only think so because Baltimore has the more appealing location, or they are voting off homerism...

I definitely haven't been to Detroit yet, just through the airport, but I've been to Baltimore several times and I doubt very seriously Detroit is a lower scale place than that. And I'm not slighting Baltimore, but it is hardly a top tier US city. Detroit is still a Top 15 city despite literally 5 consecutive decades if decline and disinvestment, if its rebirth continues to accelerate in the '20s, Detroit is gonna start climbing towards where its esteem used to be...

Downtown is nice. The outskirts are still gritty as fukk but there are pockets of nice neighborhoods here and there. Its weird when I was in highschool downtown was always a ghost town now its white people riding around on scooters and people
shopping.
