Motown Museum seems dope I’d check that out if I go
So you would be here around July, I would say check out the RiverWalk downtown, the cultural centers in Midtown - Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, DIA, and Detroit Historical Museum.Thinking about going here next month..what is there to do in Detroit for someone who isn’t into clubs and shyt?

Detroit shyts on Baltimore. It’s way better. If Baltimore’s rating is that low so far, imagine what Detroit’s will look like...
I’m doing some investing out there and went for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised.
One of the best downtowns in the nation, the stable neighborhoods have excellent housing stock fukking large beautiful homes, food was hitting, people friendly.
Looking forward to returning.
I was in Northwest Detroit mostly I think and Downtown and on the outskirts by the airport for one of my hotels. The neighborhoods I saw were Bagley, Fitzgerald, University District, Boston Edison, Grandmont/Rosedale, Oakman, Palmer Woods, Sherwood Forest, Petoskey-Otsego, Dexter Linwood. So overall more affluent/historic, stable, and mixed neighborhoods and some hood.I don't think you went to every part of Detroit. When you go outside of Downtown, it's really hit and miss. Emphasis on the miss

I know large portions of the city are wrecked and I saw a little bit of it just riding around but I have no reason to be deep East side or West side.![]()
One thing that may or may not be an adjustment, it is super unique to be that big of a city and that BLACK. Might be an adjustment not seeing this many black people in 99% of the rest of America. Even other cities that people call "chocolate cities" like New Orleans, DC, Atlanta, etc, are not even close to as black as Detroit is. Do you think it would fukk with yiu not seeing as many black people around?Born and raised. Been here all my life and ready to go
My views of the city are skewed vs a visitor, naturally. All my family have moved out of state and when I ask if they’ll ever move back it’s a big NO. Sick of winters and being stuck in the house most of the year. Not much to do out here either. Food is alright. I do love the fact it’s tons of black folks so you don’t feel out of place, but doesn’t mean much if people aren’t doing too well
Looking to move out west with the rest of my family either this year or next.
Will still be repping the D wherever I go though. Pistons and Lions on deck. Buffs on![]()
