Giving it a high 7.

If it weren’t for the hyper-gentrification, overabundance of all them smug, entitled, pretentious Cac and whitewashed Asian techies, hyper-marginalization and depopulation of Black folks, ridiculously high COL, very high homeless population, the disappearance of its unique quirkiness, changing character of the neighborhoods, meh looking women (I think the East Bay got the best looking hunnies in the Bay Area), cold water and shark-infested beaches, hyper liberalism, and vehement pro-fakkitry, it would score a lot higher than that.

What saves it from being scored lower is its revered food scene, the architecture and physical layout of the city, its year-round fall-like weather, surprising grittiness, its Manhattan-lite skyline, the Fillmore District and its history (especially as Harlem of the West), RBL Posse, dope ass institutions, actual wild bison roaming around in Golden Gate Park, it being a traditional hotbed for underground, alternative, and indie music, its storied contributions to Punk music, perfect blend between natural beauty and pure urbanity, how it looks like a classic city of neighborhoods (don’t know if it is nowadays tho), the uniqueness of the Tenderloin (shyt looks like a slice of Baltimore transplanted to the West Coast), and the fact that it’s a really small ass city but punches well above its weight against most cities within its own class.

Overall, I’m still down to visit this city one day.

Is it as gentrified as DC, or are they about the same?

Ain't nothing East Coast about San Fran lmao. East Coasters feel comfortable there because it is compact but nothing characteristically about its culture is East Coast---->its California thru and thru, believe that...

Just the architecture, the people are way nicer. I never noticed how high strung the east coast was until I got to the east coast. Having strangers wanting to carry a conservation threw me off big time.

Matter of fact y'all even talk to him a with respect. The first time I was in.San Francisco some cac bum asked me for change and I told him to stop sucking on that glass dikk. All the patrons at the bart station gave me a bunch of :francis::hhh::picard::dwillhuh::mjtf::martin::what::skip::leostare::merchant::upsetfavre: looks.

Boy I disagree with this...

Oakland is probably a Top 30 city, Top 10 is lofty, g. Oakland is great but by no stretch is it a Top 10 city...

I been to 80% of the cities that’s gon be ranked... I understand why someone would disagree but I been around enough to know I have it pretty damn good over here.

I can dig it, bruh. Similarly, I feel this way about Sacramento---->I've been to probably 70% of the cities that are gonna be ranked, assuming the Top 50 largest cities will be spoken on...

Sacramento is criminally underrated by Californians, talked down upon, but my experience a)in living on the East Coast and South around people who have been to Sac, I have never, not one time, heard vitriol towards Sac from non-Californians who have been. But more importantly:

B)I've been to alot of cities. Sacramento more than holds it's own with cities of comparable size. I'm excluding nobody. Sacramento is easily overlooked because of the shadow of The Bay right down the street, and the only other cities that close to larger, more popular areas are also similarly overlooked (Baltimore, Milwaukee, Newark)...

Sacramento would be the largest city in most states in America, and would be the 2nd largest city if it were in places like NC, PA, GA, MN, and a bunch of other places. But because it's in California, we understand why its overlooked...

So I feel similarly about Sac. I don't think there are 35 greater cities in the US, and that's saying something for an old "cowtown in the valley" that is in the shadow of a Top 5 region in the country, and most cities in Sac's weight class aren't demonstrably greater cities. They just aren't...

San Fran seems like it’s worse tbh. The extreme marginalization of Black folks in the SFC is one thing, but the fact that they’re hardly visible at all in much of the city and barely got a presence in SF’s city government, if at all, is very shocking. I’m willing to bet even Seattle ain’t that bad.

DC got a hire ranking than Chicago and Chicago got a higher ranking than ATL.

Thought ATL would be number one on here.

Atlanta is still top 5 within the poll so there’s that lol. I was honestly surprised that DC got rated so highly on here.

Same lol. I know DC gets a good amount of love on here but I would’ve thought ATL, being the darling of The Coli, would be in the number one spot.

Shame what they've done to the black population. Historic city. Would be a 10 from me if the city still had areas that were above 25% Black besides the areas they've forced black ppl into for decades(Hunters Point Bayview).

This is the type of stuff I was referring to in the Atlanta thread and I knew it would happen in the SF thread. People have a real dislike for a city they don't know just because they are homophobic.

Anyway, I give SF a 9/10. For what the city is and what it offers. Right now SF is going through a rough patch, but it will fix itself in due time.
It's a unique and beautiful city, unfortunately there are not a lot of black people. But the reason for that is the same reason black people are getting pushed out of Brooklyn and Harlem.

But it does have a great black history.
Agreed. All these iconic dope cities are being ranked low because of gentrification. Something thats happening in literally every city including ATL and DC. I took points off of SF because of what they've done to the black pop, but all in all I'll still give it an 8.5.

but other than that, city is still WACK lol
Yep, the rest of the US ridiculously flat once you leave The Bay.

sf used to have lots of communities with tons of culture. Nothing but nerdy/hipster cacs, rich asian techies, and homeless. City is a 7 based on weather and food alone.

:mjlol: at orlando > sf
