I have family there

The Good

1. Nice food spots.. place called Doinks Joint a hamburger spot was fukking good… tried that Slyman’s corn beef spot and it was good… it was this food truck call momma’s deli black owned and the best honey lemon wings i have had and the greens

2. The suburbs like pincrest plaza and lynhurst plaza was nice and i think its called westlake where white folks have is a nice place

However the inner city is a disaster

from abandoned homes, buildings, roads fukked up, trash everywhere, black folks in those areas just look helpless and don’t want to better themselves and my goodness every 1 out of 3 black women got kids…. Its like reaching gaza strip status in they black neighborhoods

Im starting to see this change in the 24+ demographic. I know a decent amount of younger women without children, way more without children now than 15 years ago. The neighborhoods are slowly starting to get better since they've been tearing down housing projects, but now the inner ring suburbs like maple heights are going to hell :yeshrug:

A three. Seriously.
Cleveland has totally been overtaken by Columbus as the top city in Ohio and on top of that it's become so flavorless in the last decade. It's had the exact opposite lifespan as Detroit...where Detroit was experiencing growth, new eateries, bars and culture while still being a 75%-ish black city.

It's nowhere near as cool or as black as Detroit
Not as invested in as Columbus
Doesn't have the population or culture of Chicago
etc.

I vote Cleveland worst metro/city in the Midwest. Only Indianapolis is close.

This is really harsh analysis 🤣 but you're likely much more familiar with Cleveland than I.

I've only been to a few areas in the Midwest: Cleveland; Edinburgh and Indianapolis in Indiana; Kansas City; and Leavenworth, Kansas. So I'm not a Midwest expert, but Cleveland by far was my favorite of these areas.

(I've been thru the airports in Detroit; Indy; Chicago Midway; and MSP).

I always got the impression that Cleveland was a Baby Detroit, in everything from demographics to culture. Is that perception wrong?
