Rate This City: Day 31 - Atlantic City

Anyway on a serious note we can take this as an opportunity to learn something new.

Turns out in the early 20th century Atlantic city had a higher concentration of African-Americans than anywhere in the north including Harlem NY.

Atlantic City is definitely top 3 in Jersey.

It's known mainly for it's gambling/casinos.

It's an aight city. So with that being said I am going to give em a 6.

OP you should do some more East Coast cities like Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, Rochester, Mount Vernon etc.

Yeah, do Newark first then Jersey City. or if you want to chose one, I would just go with Newark.
But Pavonia-Newport in Jersey City has some nice spots, there is a park out In Jersey City- Liberty State Park. I used to have this spot out there that I would go alone, to get away from the city- for no reason. Turn off my phone so no one can reach me- ride the water taxis just to do it, casually walk along the boardwalk, perfect view of the Manhattan skyline, eat a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar, read a book, stare at the water, relax.. for a couple of hours, drifting away from all life's problems, my own little space in time.. sigh.

I've been to Jersey City a few times but it was nothing too interesting there. I know about Liberty State Park but sadly I've never been to it yet but I heard it was very scenic and that they have very nice views of Lower Manhattan and The Statue Of Liberty.

If you gone do Atlantic City, then you might as well do the city with more casinos, an equal beach, and some great food & culture.

you know I'm just joking with you. Rep your shyt!!!!! That's your city, do you. I'll vote with an open mind. I've never been to a lot of Southern cities so it's interesting to see people's comments and reactions.

@Son_Of_God Let him do Biloxi, if he wants to. Don't mind me. I didn't even know there were casinos, beaches out there. That's why this a good series - expand our thoughts beyond our own spaces and corner of the world. I wouldn't mind doing a southern state city tours just to see other parts of the culture, browse around.

That's why this a good series - expand our thoughts beyond our own spaces and corner of the world. I wouldn't mind doing a southern state city tours just to see other parts of the culture, browse around.

If he wants me to do it then I have no problem with that but unfortunately cities that's lesser known tends rank pretty badly.

Look at Boston, Miami, San Francisco though.. Boston deserves exactly where it belongs and it's a well known city.
What I'm trying to figure out is how in the hell did San Diego get so high on the list. What is that known for and why??

Well let me not talk cuz I never been. Doesn't Trump own like a bunch of hotels there? I'd prefer hitting up Vegas but if I lived in the northeast around there, I could see myself doing some occasional weekend visits. But other than the casinos, I don't know what they have to offer.

yeah, you got a point on that lol. A lot of people said that San Diego is a very chill and relaxing place. I've never been there before but it does seems like a cool place to live in.

I used to love going every summer but Sandy did it in like another poster said...,Now its just desolate and dirty and pretty boring

Gave it a 6 off nostalgia. Its alot of nothing out there now.
