She's a 7 imo :yeshrug: very underappreciated and slightly underrated.

I remember when my youngest sister was in highschool back in '11 and I'd pick her up after school, all the little kids were bumping her music etc....

Now 8yrs later everybody thinks she's average or trash :mjlol: crazy how popularity changes in time...her music is somewhat better than Beyonce's....

Who wanna dispute that :sas1:?

What about everybody else? You no care for the others outside of the ones you mentioned? :ld:
Yes. I do. Lol- that’s not what I implied. Those are my specific artists that I liked or still have on my playlists. What I meant is that this is a good thread topic. I’ll rate and comment on whichever singer that you choose to post.

Rihanna is a decent singer. Her strongest quality is her versatility. She can pull off a ballad like Unfaithful then flip a club/party joint like Only Girl, Ratchet songs like B* Better Have My Money, plus her Caribbean songs like Pon De Replay. I applaud her for that.

Oh I'm with you breh but you see it's one thing to be versatile and it's another thing to be aesthetically pleasing from an aural standpoint and she isn't, see her voice is grating for extended periods in fact, she probably has one of the most annoying voices of all time IMO and having had the opportunity to hear her live had me dying thank god for the engineer that's all I'm saying.

She can hold a note but you start asking for range and it becomes a problem like I said she's good at what she does but that production saves her .........a lot.

The poster @2 Cold Taurus mentioned Take A Bow and that song is what I thought of when I saw this thread and like that poster I can't stand it don't get me wrong because it's well written but what @BlackPearl The Empress said initially about song writers being the heroes is true (stylists notwithstanding) because that song becomes incredibly bearable when you hear Ne-Yo sing it of course he co-wrote the song so :ehh:

Hear how that sounds when somebody with actual range sings it, he's not trying either, sorry but Ri Ri has to take a seat on this one :manny:

(well done you actually pulled me into a music discussion in tlr )

She's not a real vocalist.

I look at like I look at an amerie or a Janet Jackson or something.

She had the aesthetics & attitude to elevate herself to superstar status(minus the machine giving her a push).

She gets a 5

Amel Larrieux, has that 90s NYC, NY undercover outro kind of voice. "Tell me" and "Keep Tryin" are two of my favorite songs ever.
FACTS.. I loved her sound - that deep bassy NYC underground soul singer sound. and lol at" NY undercover "outro":russ:perfect description.
this was one of my favorites ... so soulful.
:wow:

keep trying was inspirational... top 5 songs ever. I was going through some shyt too
