Yeah....I'm not feeling the prices either. I was hoping for one flat price. Without that I'll pass.

Well.. It's not exactly the same situation but some folks are looking at it like this:
"I have a PS3/PS4 already.. :what: I look like paying $9.99 to 'rent' Demons Soul when I can just buy it for $10?"
People like that aren't who this is aimed at. It's aimed at the folks who are like:
"Damn I don't have my PS3 no more but Demons soul sounds good... I want to play it before Bloodborne comes out but :childplease: I'm not buying another PS3 for $150.
:leon: I can stream this on my PS4 for $20 for a month? :leon: I could finish it in a month, not bad."

I know it's not the same situation, wasn't trying to say it was...

basically that's why the prices aint shyt

what a weird strawman argument.

wasn't trying to make an argument, just stating an example from shyt I see and hear from people....they'll complain about being 'nickeled and dimed', but have no problem buying more expensive unnecessary shyt just cause....the example about the phone is where I see people get a new phone every couple months or year just cause they want the newest phone, not cause they need it....but they will be the same people that will drive outta their way to save a couple cents a gallon on gas...shyt like that....

You do realize that games now go on sale, online somewhere within about 90 days, at about $30-$40, right? So you're telling me you are gonna pay the same price to rent as you would to own? :usure:

this shyt will barely affect me, I buy the games I want to play...with that said: I don't think $3 - $30 to rent a game is that much...for those rare times it's a game I want to try out but not sure I want to buy, I would have no problem spending $3 bucks to try it out...if I like it, I'll go buy it; if I don't, I wont, and all it cost me was $3 bucks....

Its funny how the roll out much better games to test the pay per title model while they had crap games for the subscription model in the beta.

Different games have different rates for rentals and publishers are setting them. They are testing to see what they can get away with...And apparently a lot of it ain't gonna fly because people are scoffing at these rates.

IMO 7.99 for 30 days is one of the more reasonable rates on there.

So you dudes think you will receive an entire library of over what 7k games spanning 3 gens(ps1, 2, 3) for about 20 dollars a month? :heh: The damn service would be unplayable with all the traffic. This aint netflix. How many of you dudes going to be playing multiple past gen games like that anyway. You choose what game you want to play and keep it moving. 11 bucks for 30 days? Sounds solid for me. Esp in down months when nothing coming out and you want to go nostalgia for a few days

I think the biggest issue is the latency...It was trash in the beta I was in. Told me I had the best connection possible, yet the games had that quarter second delay. Wouldn't spend money on something like that.

If it was like Netflix then Sony would only put up select games per month, not the entire library.

that's not what they said when advertising it...they just said you'd be able to stream ps1/2/3 games for a 'fee'....like the one cat said, most of these are probably gonna be set by the publisher/devs....

also, if they included the price in ps+ and ps+ went up, yall would complain about that too....be honest: yall just want this shyt to be free lol....

It's also a case of streaming an actual video game instantaneously vs paying for a subscription and waiting for a disc in the mail. If it works as seamless as others have reported, this is extremely convenient for those who don't feel like waiting for Redbox to get a game in stock or for Gamefly to send a game. I've waited for weeks for a game to get to me at times.. Imagine for example you can rent Destiny for $7.99 for 4 hours, if you like it you can either buy it digitally or go out and buy it physically. Redbox or Gamefly can't match that convenience because a lot of redboxes don't even carry certain games and then there's the issue of games not being in stock, driving to the kiosk, or waiting for Gamefly to have the game available.
If they're not gonna follow the flat rate Netflix model then this service is dead to me. Sony is probably too greedy to charge a flat monthly rate for an all you can play style especially considering if new games got added to it people would buy less games.

This is nothing more than your cable company's On Demand service. Rentals that are over priced due to "sake of convenience." Gamefly is still better than this for the simple fact that with Gamefly you get a flat fee and more options on rentals. You can get a brand new game on Gamefly included in that flat fee.

The options of being able to rent anything for the flat fee is more appealing that paying a high price to be able to rent something instantly.

Man, miss me with that pr bullshyt.

If this is a glorified rental service then why can't they just let us download the game for a couple hours instead of dealing with lag.

This shyt is starting to sound like it was planned to hold back backwards compatibility so they could charge these billshyt prices.

These fukks advertised having the whole playstation library at the tips of your fingers for a fee. They never said each game would cost something.
