Rates for PSNow rolling out

It was. Why bake in backwards compatibility into the hardware and allow people to play the games they already bought at no extra cost when you can remove it from the hardware than nickle and dime people to play older titles? This is why I still own a PS2 and a PS3 and I won't sell them.

Even if they did a flat fee and added the limitation that games newer than 6 month aren't included I could still go for that.

did they plan this? I don't know, probably....i mean, they are in the business to make money....also, you still have access to the whole library, instead of getting a flat fee for everything, you get ala cart....which they said when they started giving more details about a potential pricing structure....

seriously, how much sense does it make to give access to all the games in the library for a flat fee?...muthafukkas wouldn't buy games anymore, they'd just wait for it to come to the service....which would be negative as hell on the industry as a whole....also, cant believe yall really complaining about $3 - $30 rentals...

The 4 hours rental is trash straight up. These new games, man it takes 2 hours just to get through the tutorial.

If they're not gonna follow the flat rate Netflix model then this service is dead to me. Sony is probably too greedy to charge a flat monthly rate for an all you can play style especially considering if new games got added to it people would buy less games.

This is nothing more than your cable company's On Demand service. Rentals that are over priced due to "sake of convenience." Gamefly is still better than this for the simple fact that with Gamefly you get a flat fee and more options on rentals. You can get a brand new game on Gamefly included in that flat fee.

The options of being able to rent anything for the flat fee is more appealing that paying a high price to be able to rent something instantly.

Again this type of service isn't for everyone but rest assured there ARE people that will have no problems paying for this. Imo this is better than redbox because half the time a new game comes out, it's not even available and if it is it's not at the closest redbox for me. This seems like a option to appease folks asking for backwards compatibility but then again I'd prefer an emulator. I heard a rumor that they were going to have a PS1/PS2 emulator for the PS4 that would be displayed at a native 1080P. If that would allow you to play your older library of games without any issue than that would be big. I have a gaming PC that takes care of that but add in trophies and the ease of use and it'd be great but that's wishful thinking. PS2 games at 1080P look great still.

From the impressions I've heard people had with PS Now, lag was minimal or unnoticeable for most. Also factor in the size of these games... Would you rather sit and wait for a 20GB game to download to your PC for a few hours or just be able to play instantly on PS3/PS4/PS Vita or a tablet??? People will pay more for convenience. YOU may not but there's something for everyone.

Just mod a new or used PS3 and every game from PS1-3 will be free and on there forever. Plus every retro system. Only downside is no more online play. If you have a PS4 now its a no brainer

I don't care about ps3 games I was more excited about psx games and ps2 to a lesser extent.

I would have payed good money to be able to play any psx game at any moment with my vita.

You kinda can play any PSX game on the Vita right now. Not every game though. I don't know what they holding back some PS1 games for as a while ago an update came out that enabled some PS1 games to be played and then it was patched.

I'm not talking about buying and downloading psx games, I do that now.

I was expecting to be able to stream any game at any time, like a gaming Netflix service.

I would have paid good money for that convenience.

I don't know why these companies will create a good idea then the first thought is how much can they nickel and dime their consumers.

Only old games should be playable, old as in, last generation old.

Most of the games people aren't buying new anyways if at all so I don't understand what money these developers are missing out on.

Movies have a grace period on Netflix. Can't get them for at least 30 days after home video release. Give games a grace period of 6 months to 1 year. Besides at they one year mark most games have drastically fallen in price.
