People need to realize you can make an insurance claim for rats chewing your wires or causing damage. You dont need to pay for these repairs out of your own pocket just your deductible to the shop when their done.

Yep and rats reproduce more in when it's warmer, the warmer it is the more they reproduce and they can reproduce alot.
The problem there's little to no studies done on them, and we don't even really know if rats are decreasing or increasing in many states/cities because building management do not want to admit they have a rat problem.
In NY there could be 4 million to 30 million, that's a huge gap.
And we don't know what urban rats do either, and how they behave much because there's no data.
There's some people tagging them but again most building managers do not want to admit they have a rat issue.

Yes I paid two deductibles but my deductible is $1,000 and so far I paid 2K for 2 of these incidents. Real cost is 6K worth of engine damages

You have to be out in NYC during the nighttime, you'll see rats hopping off of bikes and dipping under cars.

Used to see this a lot when I worked at the dealership back in the Sip. We used to pull so many mice nest from folks cabin and air filters it was ridiculous. The service manager would always tell people to spray peppermint oil around the car to keep them out the engine bay. Apparently that shyt worked.
