What happened? WHeres the receipts?? :feedme:

EDIT:

"I mean, I don't know where my roots go to," Raven explains. "I don't know how far back they go... I don't know what country in Africa I'm from, but I do know that my roots are in Louisiana. I'm an American. And that's a colorless person."

"You're going to get a lot of flak for saying you're not African-American. You know that, right?" Oprah asks.

Raven puts her hands up. "I don't label myself," she reiterates. "I have darker skin. I have a nice, interesting grade of hair. I connect with Caucasian, I connect with Asian, I connect with black, I connect with Indian, I connect with each culture."

"You are a melting pot in one body," Oprah says.

"Aren't we all?" Raven asks. "Isn't that what America's supposed to be?"

:demonic: May the wolves have mercy on her lost soul :demonic:

Ehh, I'll let the cacs deal with her. I'd give it 6-12 months before she's in some scandal and the media let's her know how black she really :heh:

She was trying to get too deep with it.

She doesn't want to be labeled as an African American, but she has no problem labeling herself as an "American"

It's almost as she just wants everyone to be labeled the same...which is just not going to work. We are a melting pot (her words) BECAUSE we are different. She then proceeds to label all other cultures/races that she connects with.

How dumb is this broad?

I might neg you for getting me this upset by posting this video breh.

You noticed in the beginning she had no problem saying how proud she was to be gay, but when it comes to what race she is "I no black papi :mjpls:"

The unfortunate thing is that either she does or doesn't know that her motivations for such a statement are rooted in learned behavior that has been embraced by most black folks, regardless of tax bracket

nikka they're entertainers wtf you doing even giving a fukk what they say? Let them just entertain
If that is the case, then entertainment jargon like "when keeping it real goes wrong" OR "There're nikkas and there're black folks" wouldn't be used by regular black folks to justify a way of acting and thinking

Media conditions those of us who lack perspective and are lazy in our rational and reasoning

More learned behavior. Had gayness been unique to black folks, that statement would've been slightly different
Same motivations for organizations that claim to be about black upliftment, but uses a variation of "people of color" in its title
Same motivations with folks and their slash racial identity....bu bu I'm italian/german/cherokee/asian/black

Its been an extremely terrible year for Black celebrities..I cant think of any high profile Black artists that actually took a stand for Black folks. Lebron maybe? Jay Z threw us under the bus for Barney's chump change when he's already richer than most people, then you have these C list Blacks trying to sell Black people the American Dream like we stupid or something..'oh, we all American and colorless and kumbaya'..:snoop:
I think the sooner we stop fawning over them and publicly condemn them the better off we'll be. Im ready to ditch them all anyway. Hasn't been a good hip hop song in a decade anyway, and Black film is non existent so who the fukk are these Sambo's??
