Yeah, I mean basically all aa are of west/central African lineage. But that tie to Africa was lost hundreds of years ago and aa had to create new culture in the united states. Culturally the roots for aa are in the south. Its completely different for someone of west indian lineage

Labels are tricky. I disagree with Raven, but I think I feel what shes trying to say... Africans have been here longer, or just as long as (white/European) Americans, yet (white/European) Americans are simply referred to as 'American' by default. If America is this one big melting pot then we shouldn't need to add the 'African' to 'American' to define ourselves because it almost makes us less American.. I think thats the gist of what she wanted to say




Simple answer:
Call them European-Americans, German-American, Anglo-American, Caucasian-American, English-American, Khazar Jew American, British American... We can all celebrate and acknowledge our ancestry

The difference is genius is that Cacs know what their SPECIFIC ancestry is....

Blacks on the most part do not know the "Specific country or ethnic group" and feel a connection to the "Motherland" and want to at least feel like they have something so they use a label like "African American" to show they are proud of at least having a connection to Africa but have people chastize that and make excuses on why they can't use it....all cause they have stigmas on Africa....
