Only if you are a fan of the miami heat...dont you get it :shaq2:
but if thats the only thing they can point out then we are doing ok... :myman:

Not just Miami. You cant be a fan of the Lakers, Cowboys, Yankees either:ohhh:

I do find it odd that Ray Allen would say this though, and then admit he wasnt a fan of his hometown team as a kid either:heh:

He didn't say that though. :heh: He didn't say anything about who people can root for. He didn't even say anything negative about bandwagoners. He acknowledged that he did the same as a kid and provided an explanation for why it's so common...the media only focusing on certain teams. It was more so an indictment of the media than bandwagoners.

He said it's "mostly" the media's fault. That means that he still blames fans too.

As much as we blame the fans, it's mostly the media's fault

Juan Roberto's bald spot
Why the hate for bandwagon fans tho? They sure as hell have it figured out. Going through the Dave Campo era, whose idiocy, and subsequently, Quinthy's fondneth for the mary jane necessitated me having to endure a whole week being miserable awaiting them to pick me up the following Sunday. Once I realised that this experience was even more traumatic than my spectacularly failed relationships I broke free and became a front runnin sumbytch
And God bless the inventor of the Tivo, for now I can just wait for the scores and watch my 'current' team's winning games and ignore their losses for they never occurred, just like a good christian would.
Focus on the positives brehs

Someone explain to me what the difference between The Heat's bandwagon fans The Lakers? How many people were fans of The Bulls before Jordan and Pippen came, how people were fans of The Lakers after Magic before Shaq and Kobe came. How many people were fans of The Pistons before Wallace, Billups, Hamilton, Rasheed, and Prince came and stared winning? Fact is people like winners.
No such thing as a Pistons bandwagon fan. They do not exisst.

hes right.

I remember during the season, there were literally like 5 Miami games that aired in the midst of 1 week. and iirc, they were all against bottom-feeder squads.

this board is kind of a by-product of that, when it comes to the basketball topics. all the way down to college basketball. its like up until march, only a handful of people spoke on more than just Kentucky......who couldn't even win an NIT game.

crazy how this is the way "the black sport" is treated. just like hip-hop.

The NBA used to market things a little differently with 'regional coverage' for games and triple headers but they always will have the big fish in the front.

That was probably during or following the streak. ESPN bought the rights to all their games up to what would have been the record breaker and once they lost it was still on the hook to air those games. That doesn't take away from the overall point though.
