The Ravens are considered the 2nd greatest superbowl defense of all time after the 85 Bears, what else do you need?
Second :russ:. Their entire super bowl run their defense allowed 16 points, and that's coming off a regular season where the defense surrendered 151 points, allowed 2.7 yards per run, pitched 4 shutouts, and forced 48 turnovers. In the playoffs they allowed one touchdown by the opposing offenses and scored two on defense. In the super bowl, the giants gave up 4 sacks to them, turned it over five times including a pick six, and never even reached the red zone. Even the bears defense gotta fall back on that showing.

Yeah, they had some sort of psychological advantage over The Pats. It went beyond X's and O's, because I'm sure the Pats have faced teams that schematically had just as good if not better defensive schemes than the Ravens.
You can never beat the Pats with Xs and Os. Belichick is way too good for that. Too many coaches outsmart themselves against him. It just happened last night. You gotta play more physical than them which isn't hard to do but Belichick is such a genius

This right here. Everyone tries to get cute and out think them. Just play straight up and physical. Don't beat yourselves is their mantra, and yet every team they face seems to do just that.

Yup 2000 Ravens D was the GOAT. People forget they still won 3 games out of 5 that the offense couldn't get in the end zone. 85 Bears also had a better offense

Most offenses were better. I think they were 23rd in yards per game . You hit the nail on the head. In a five game span where the offense scored 0 touchdowns, they still managed to win 2 of those games while being in the losses until the final minute. Unreal how good that unit was.

That 06 team shoulda been the best Ravens team ever if they didn't blow it in the playoffs to the Colts. That D arguably had more talent than the 00 team

Lewis, Reed, Suggs, Ngata, McAllister, Adalius Thomas, Bart Scott, Dawan Landry, Samari Rolle, Trevor Pryce, and Kelly Gregg. I think 7 of them made the Pro Bowl:banderas:
Those names...

The Bears shut out the Giants and the Rams and the only reason the Patriots scored a TD was off a Walter Payton fumble. Don't get me wrong the Ravens are close, but the Bear were the better defense by a few hairs.

Beli is pretty much Yoda. He just trains his Jedi's with EVERY.SINGLE.DETAIL about the game. That's how he can put former WalMart greeters on defense.

Honestly @BmoreGorilla, @Miami316, @R.E.N. Spells Ren, I may hate Baltimore just as much as I hate New England. Baltimore has beaten us in Wild Card rounds, and they've beaten us in the regular season to keep us out of the playoffs. Miami usually splits with New England. But we always play the Ravens once, and the one time we play them are always mid-to-late season games wit playoff implications, and they always whoop on us and keep us out of the playoffs. Or they just smack us in the Wildcard. Low-key they might be a bigger thorn in Miami's side then New England...

:mjcry:

I HATE the AFC.

:pacspit:

I can't wait for Adam Gase to rain hell and fire on the Pats/Steelers/Ravens/Colts/Broncos. We'll have our year soon enough...

They do a good job of finding smart football players and just plugging them in. ANd becuz of the culture they have guys know they just have to do their job. Their D changes from week to week so players don't have to digest a whole damn playbook and once and slow down their development. They can just go and play and not have to think too much

Thats because Brady sucks when he isnt standing there like a statue. Sad but true. ATL's D was giving him that work for over 3 quarters but ATL O kept getting shut out and their D got gassed and thats when Brady took advantage. Those Ravens D never got gassed and gave him hell all game and it showed. Same with the Giants D
it doesn't matter whether a QB is mobile or not, ed Reed is a free safety that would neutralize that outside the pocket shyt. Don't get me wrong Aaron Rodgers is on another level when it comes to that but, he hasn't faced a free safety like reed before.
