Honestly @BmoreGorilla, @Miami316, @R.E.N. Spells Ren, I may hate Baltimore just as much as I hate New England. Baltimore has beaten us in Wild Card rounds, and they've beaten us in the regular season to keep us out of the playoffs. Miami usually splits with New England. But we always play the Ravens once, and the one time we play them are always mid-to-late season games wit playoff implications, and they always whoop on us and keep us out of the playoffs. Or they just smack us in the Wildcard. Low-key they might be a bigger thorn in Miami's side then New England...

:mjcry:

I HATE the AFC.

:pacspit:

I can't wait for Adam Gase to rain hell and fire on the Pats/Steelers/Ravens/Colts/Broncos. We'll have our year soon enough...

:laff: that ain't never happening. I done seen the Ravens beat up on the Phins too many times

I agree with OP though, just the physicality of the Ravens teams is what beats the Pats

Second :russ:. Their entire super bowl run their defense allowed 16 points, and that's coming off a regular season where the defense surrendered 151 points, allowed 2.7 yards per run, pitched 4 shutouts, and forced 48 turnovers. In the playoffs they allowed one touchdown by the opposing offenses and scored two on defense. In the super bowl, the giants gave up 4 sacks to them, turned it over five times including a pick six, and never even reached the red zone. Even the bears defense gotta fall back on that showing.

Not to take away from anything they did but look at the terrible teams they played that year. Akili Smith, Spergon Wynn, Doug Pederson,Tim Crouch, and etc were the quarterbacks they faced :mjlol: I personally can't put them #1 when they played such trash opposition compared to the 85 Bears :manny:

That 06 team shoulda been the best Ravens team ever if they didn't blow it in the playoffs to the Colts. That D arguably had more talent than the 00 team

Lewis, Reed, Suggs, Ngata, McAllister, Adalius Thomas, Bart Scott, Dawan Landry, Samari Rolle, Trevor Pryce, and Kelly Gregg. I think 7 of them made the Pro Bowl:banderas:

That was the most devastating loss for me as a Ravens fan. That was our year and our second best defense ever imo. The offense just came out too psyched up and couldn't settle down. It also didn't help that McNair lost his arm strength. I always hated the Colts way more than the Pats because of games like that.

Moved the goalposts to 2001? That's the starting point of this Patriot (Brady-Belichick) era, why wouldn't I start there??? :mindblown:

The thread title is referencing Ray Lewis (1996-2012) and Ed Reed (2002-2012), seeing that we played neither team in 2001, why is going back to the beginning of this Patriot era 'moving the goalposts' :dahell:

You'd be better off claiming I moved the goalposts by including the years after 2012.

This is why I can't seriously debate on here. First you claimed the Ravens played the Pats way more in the playoffs. I show you that's not true and the Broncos have a better postseason record than them and you start getting your Juelz on.
full

I have no dog in this fight being an Eagles fan but, if someone asked me which team was more of a rival to New England over the years between Denver and Baltimore, I'mma say Baltimore because I remember all of the post season bouts between those two teams. The games against Denver were the definition of forgettable.

I don't know, Broncos have had some success against Brady and the Pats. Last year the D had that man scared for his life.

Yeah I've never seen Brady get beat up like he did against the Broncos...and yet still he was a two point conversion away from tying the game. I think his physical toughness is underrated
