That definitely could be it too. Just familiarity since Math has been around them a lot more. I think guys like Verb, Big T, Shine, genuinely like Math. I think guys who don’t even think Math is good like him personally like Suge and Twork for example. Whereas Serius, he’s not around them enough and they really judge him off interviews and the small time they spend around him he seems to just be bragging on himself.
Serius personality is like Surf on steroids without the clear comedic tinge to it. Surf talks shyt constantly but you can tell there's a line where he doesn't even believe it, he's just talking shyt because its fun. We all came up with a kid who acted just like that. Serius on the other hand seems always serious about it with no humility at all lol. Outside looking in I don't even know if he has positive personality traits at all.

I met Serius at an event and even during our brief interaction he came off as smug and not particularly likable.

Math on the other hand I’ve met twice and is genuinely personable and down to earth. You can just tell he’s a good dude

It just baffles me how indistinctive Serius became as an emcee over the years. Dude was my favorite once upon a time. What happened to the guy with the conversational, storytelling flow who clowned Jin and Mook and had everybody laughing like they didn’t even belong in front of him?

I honestly haven’t gotten through an entire Serius Jones battle since Clips (maybe Ness as well). As a rapper, he used to be comedic and charismatic. Now his bars are just extra regular and his delivery has no flare. What happened? Did his failed mainstream career and the Math situation take that big of a toll?

That style was cool, for that time period. It doesn't hit as much now.

Which Fight Klub battle was it where he did the whole judge, jury, executioner scheme? That sh1t was flames, especially back then

I agree that dude just isnt that good any more. Whereas Math I think actually got much better and more clever with time, Jones just kinda fell into a really generic lane, barking on people with forced schemes.

Not to say Serius Jones is a bad battle rapper, he's just not much better than say, Jerry Wess. And for a guy as prominent as he was that's a shame

I disagree. That whole being funny/exposing your opponent with personals at the same time I think set the blueprint for a lot of dudes.

When he told Mook “you’re not a gangsta...your government name is Jonathan Ancrum, you went Fordham Prep Catholic private school!!!” or told Jin “China has a billion people...you couldn’t go platinum over there!!”

All of that was and still is hilarious. It’s not the style that’s the problem...the content/spark just isn’t there anymore.
