Virology is one of the most interesting sciences. Virologists spend their careers tracing the genetic makeup of viruses until they find the exact origin, at which point they head to that area and literally kill whatever they find. Scientists have killed thousands of bats, pigs, and monkeys over the last 30 years due to this. With H1N1 they were able to find the exact caves that housed the bats that originally spread the virus, and they torched them. Scientists traced HIV/AIDS to African jungles and the bush meat market; no, humans weren't fukking moneys...they were slaughtering them and selling the meat, which is how the disease jumped from animal to human.

We're still in the process of tracing COVID-19 but right now scientists know that Wuhan's wet markets are where it largely started; the question is "what was brought into the markets, and from where." There's debate on how was brought there from outside...for instance by a sailor, merchant, etc who may have visited other areas as well, or simply the slaughtered animals. But we generally know where the origin is. The idea that this was created in a lab is laughable and high key a sign that you are stupid and didn't know about this issue before it popped up. If you have Lysol in your house right now and can read the label and see that COVID is listed on it, as one of the viruses it kills. Not COVID-19, but some of the earlier iterations. It's not a new virus, it's a new version.

Chinese scientists already released the virus' genetic makeup to the WHO. That genetic makeup is consistent with what we're seeing in Europe, the US, etc. I have major issues with the Chinese govt's response to all this...but the only thing we know for certain is what the virus is (genetically). Death numbers from China, quarantine details, etc? All bullshyt. I'm sure our intelligence community knows but the public doesn't.

Long story short. Stop spreading bullshyt.
