There are multiple dead bodies in space from all the monkeys, dogs and men sent up to collect data during the early days of the Cold War.

Our governments have gone lots of places and collected lots of data. The only reason there isn't a base on the moon is lack of profit. If the moon had shyt worth mining to make up for the cost of getting there, it'd look like your average abandoned quarry by now.
