What so hard to understand about this? White people conquered the entire world 400 years ago and they are still the de facto rulers. They set the cultural trends, they have written our moral and ethical standards, we all wear European style clothing, and we all speak European languages.

The only non-white country that really matched the euro-powers was Japan, and they did this by totally emulating the European model. Even today, the so-called "Good" whites, progressive liberals, think that everyone should adopt the culture and governing style of the White Northern European socialist model.

So..Of course non-whites have no problem playing as white characters in games to an extent because 1) white people create and buy most of the video games in the world, so there really aren't many options for non-whites 2) We have been told that white people are the standard human beings or the "default" humans for our entire lives.


That being said, however, the preference for our own kind as humans, is much stronger than our social conditioning. I have many black people in my family, and most of them do not watch so-called "white" TV shoes (Friends or sienfield or modern family), they don't watch "white" movies unless its a tent pole action film, they refuse to watch white comedians, they don't listen to "white" music (rock, lite rock, pop), they don't like to read "white" literature (Back in the day on Jet and essence magazines, and novels by black authors), and they don't have too many white friends. I have a family member that has been ostricized for being too "white", she also married a white man. She fully embraced being a "white-washed" person, and guess-what?, she is a holds a high ranking, decision making, position at one of the biggest game companies in the entire world. I really don't think she would have been fully welcomed into that position if she were "black" in her heart at least culturally.

But I agree with the idea in principle, just look at Assassins Creed 3, people hated on Connor sooo much when in truth he's one of the only protagonist to show significant growth as a character, they talk about oh he's too boring and stoic when of course he's stoic and doesn't show much emotion since he's native american that's part of the culture.

I didn't have a problem with the Witcher 3 at first...Polish lore, Polish developer...you not going to see many things in Polish anything other than white people...

And I was playing the game just fine...until they did that little featurette and one of the things they said their game tackled is "racism"

And I was like "how sway":baldhuh:...and then it was all I could think about...that the developer thinks "tackling racism" is making differently shaped white people not like each other...and after that...I just couldn't play the game anymore...and I highly doubt I will ever play another Witcher game again...
