When people say dated, nah.... It's timeless. It's truly timeless. Does it sound like modern music? No course not, it sounds better than most modern music. Dated implies it has a shelf life or it hasn't aged well, to me his catelogue has aged superbly and it sounds just as good to me as ever. His music has depth and is valuable, it isn't modern club music no, it's not really made for that, but it touches your soul, heart and mind if you get it. Some artists I can understand people feeling they may be overrated but Bob was transcendent, he wasn't just a singer or musician, he made music to feed the soul and heart. You feel an immense love and power from his music. It's some of the greatest I've ever heard, he's in that top bracket to me of artists ever, top 5 somewhere I believe. I can understand some people not getting it though I guess, but to a lot of people he's the embodiment of music and what music is supposed to be about, I agree too, Bob Marley is the epitome of what I want music to be. His music is medicine for the soul in a sick world that shines glimmers of light through darkness. So many greats after him, for example 2Pac were inspired by Bob, and they took his philosophy in a sense and are part of that legacy of making music to try to touch people and help people. When your music has value to the people, uplifts the people that's when it's timeless. A lot of the shallow ish will come and go, may be here for a while, 1 year, 2, 3, 4, 5, even 10 years, but Bob Marley's music will be here 100 years and beyond that.
