Yea Bob Marley is kinda overrated to me. I mean he was a great person and all that other shyt but as far as his music besides a couple hits, his shyt sound hella redundant . Dudes like Peter Tosh, Barrington Levy, and Buju Banton, even them lil nikkas who made pass the dutchie shyt on Bob's music.

Dutchie wasn't about no crack and those kids were badd as hell to be so young... It was a cover of The Mighty Diamonds Pass The Kouchie (ganja pipe) but they were too young to say that so it was worked into Pass The Dutchie (Cooking Pot)

Youth-How does it feel when ya go no food

Diamonds-How does it feel when ya got no 'erb

I forgot for a minute between Dutchie/Kouchie but to be honest man, I never felt Musical Youth like that shyt back in the day and still don't so my shyt came off as biased. However that's not an excuse for passing off false information, cheers for the correction, breh.:salute:

It's a fukking joke listening to some of the coli talk about reggae artists/music.

This dude just said Musical Youth shyted on Bob's discography.

Another dude said he overrated.

I don't necessarily like Bob Dylan's music, but you bet your boots he is an ICON!! Same goes with Prince.

nikkas need to look outside of they own shytty opinions

It's nuthin man it's all about sharin the stories behind the music that most people really don't know nuthin about..Like I had a ol' skool roots/dancehall reggae mix way back in the day and bro I rolled with that Maxell tape so long, I remembered everything on it long after I lost it but i never knew who all the bands were :pachaha: Years later I dig some diggin and didn't even know I was raised on Mighty Diamonds, Sly & Robbie, Steel Pulse, Mykal Rose, Junior Reid, Black Uhuru, Freddie McGregor, Shinehead etc etc since I was 8/9:wow:

I get that reggae is not for everybody (I love Marley though) but you just had to throw Prince under the buss too?

The poignant thing with Youth is that only 2 cats of the og band (the lead singer and the percussionist) are still around :mjcry:

It won't matter. He'll still keep making shytty threads and won't face any consequences.

nikka stfu, it's my opinion, I get Marleys cultural influence but all his music wasn't great to me, neither was prince

Bob Marley is beyond reggae. His influence goes across multiple genres and cultures. OP is just a tryhard troll. No one should take him seriously.

Ask anybody who's lived thru apartheid, war, love, and political violence who they rock to and you'll hear them say Nesta!!

I respect your opinion.

That being said, I disagree. Bob Marley's music reaches me at a gutteral level. His pro-Black lyrics and the melodies have touched me even when I first heard him when I was a child. I think you should listen to his discography in it's entirety. Some of his best songs are not singles/popular.

And even more powerful when u watch Nesta & his Rasta men we know as The Wailers play live..
