ASAP has a movement but he does not get love like that in NYC. NYC has some good lyricists like Dave East and Joey Badass but they're either not as artistically inclined or ill as a Kendrick or Cole, or not as innovative as a Drake. The lil hipster "Beast Coast" movement with Flatbush Zombies and Underachievers and all of them are just OK, really Fab and GS9 runs/ran things in NY

Btw I checked out some of your music, it was pretty nice :ehh:
I'm in Jersey (not the city but still) and I know the hype ain't how it was 3 years ago. I just don't think he belongs in the same category as Bobby Shmurda.

And thank you :salute: I believe in my skills but I have some decisions to make about what "lane" I want or if I even want one. I need to decide soon though (I'm 22 this month)

Shmurda isn't my cup of tea, but people shouldn't act like their crew didn't have 3-4 joints that could tear down a stage.

Hot Nygga
Shmoney Dance
Computers
Bobby Bytch

Dudes can diss the EP sales, but GS9 was going to make a ton of show money. Between him & Rowdy (+ all the features) I'm confident they would have been able to come up with more heaters. A great album? Nah, but how important is that really nowadays?

Damn, the nikka that said Rocky represents SOHO and not Harlem was on point...
yall lying to yourselves if you say bobby isn't chicago drill music influenced

a lot of young ny rappers are

they copy drill rappers slang, adlibs, mannerisms etc
Bobby and Rowdy spoke on their influences.

They are big fans of Meek, Rowdy said Flamerz era Meek was his favorite rapper. Bobby grew up a 50 Cent stan and he was actually locked up when drill started. Bobby's family from the South, he spent time down there he also into Lil Boosie.

They were rapping over a Lloyd Banks beat, drill slang is national everybody says shyt like thot now. The drill influence is overstated man.

I know I saw that interview I believe you're referring to

and he got real defensive when they asked about a Chicago influence which only reinforced my belief that he was influenced by them

one thing I do know is teenagers in the hoods of ny LOVE drill music

it speaks to them more than any ny rappers does these days

I can post rap videos right now of NY project kids talking bout they "smokin on tooka"

I'm pretty sure Bobby and co were tuned in to the drill scene these past few years

:salute: to GFK, Nas as well. The veterans for the most part hold it down.

I was talking about what the streets and young nikkas are fukking with in NY right now though. It's mostly French, Fabolous, Drake, Meek Mill, old GS9, Fetty Wap, Future, girls love Nicki.
