I think Bone is up there with Wu (especially prime for prime), but I wouldn't argue for them being better

bone is the goat group.. And they have mad quotables and classic verses. One of the best hip hop albums of all time etc
well outside of method man's debut, wutang's solo albums really weren't more successful than bone's.
but as for whatever else youre getting at, its 3 simple reasons:
1. the same reason why inspectah deck's solo didn't do nearly as good as the early wutang releases. bone waited too long to do solos. they were already semi-old school by the time the solos started coming out(aside from flesh).
2. bad deals.
3. wutang is SUPPOSED to have better solos. wutang is more of a crew than a group. theyre a collection of solo artists. 2 of em already had albums out. half the group isn't even from the same borough. meanwhile bone is a tight-knit group that been together since the dirt and came thru in unison with a unique style.
bone trumps wutang in all those departments.

As a group I think Bone are better, if you include all solo discographies I'd probably pick Wu overall. My favourite artist out of all of them is Bizzy Bone then probably Raekwon or Ghostface.

Who Bone? I love Bizzy Bone's albums personally, got around 3 classics to me. The Gift, Alpha And Omega and A Song For You. He's got some other really dope shyt too, for example The Midwest Cowbody and Heaven's Movie. Really excellent MC and criminally underrated to me. The other members of Bone's solos didn't capture me as much though I fukk with them, Layzie, Krayzie etc... But haven't heard their solos for a while, Raekwon and Ghost got some projects I fukk with and songs. I remember when originally the question was posed and I didn't know who to pick cause a huge fan of both so I listened to their group albums and I enjoyed Bone's more than Wu's, Bone had more dope group songs to me and that's what made me go with them...
