New York, New York was better than anything on RD, based on impact and it's overall place in the history of West Coast Rap.
let's not forget that RD was just another Mafioso album from an NYC cat in 96..til Jay blew up and it became a revisionist classic.
Dogg Food might not be on the same level lyrically as RD, but RD isn't exactly an album you'd put on at a party.

The reality is in 96 jay z was a nobody and nobody gave a shyt about rd. Fact is rd was never called a classic until jay started telling people it was then all his stans followed suit.
shyt is actually not that big of an exaggeration though, a lot of nikkas first heard of Jay from Makaveli during that time.
