The whole " Aaliyah stopping x____ artist" stuff was something I never agreed with in the first place for any artist, and I explained as much. Im just speculating on perhaps degrees of stardom with artists who emerged after Aaliyah who had similar styles and image that she did. There was definitely a vacuum created after her passing that some filled, like Ashanti, but Beyonce was never one of them because she was going for the Black Madonna/Next Janet Jackson lane. Im positive she wasnt even thinking about no Aaliyah even when ol girl was alive.

Aaliyah was getting into acting more and more too in addition to dropping music on the regular. I think they would have been in competition with one another regarding popularity. Its hard to say who would edge out ahead because they both had some unique appeal respectively. Personally though, I liked Aaliyah's music more or her singles. Beyonce music stay on some bullshyt with its themes but is catchy
