Just think where he'd be right now if he just kept his mouth shut :mjcry:

Right, wrong, or indifferent for calling him out, Meek had the #1 album in the country and a guaranteed hit follow-up single with R.I.C.O. featuring Drake. That plus all the publicity from dating Nicki, finishing up the tour with her and dropping the video for R.I.C.O., and then going right into DC4 :wow:

R.I.C.O. would of might made the album go Platinum or Gold, everyone was playin that joint last summer. but Meek lives off a code of the streets he wouldn't let Drake fake it out like that.

Yea I wasn't much of a fan of the singles, but they weren't horrible and I understand the logic behind them, but the rest of the album I thought was very solid.

And I agree about him evolving, I don't think any mainstream artist has shown more growth than him. I think among the big mainstream artists (Kendrick, Drake, Cole) he was the one that needed to grow the most, but he put the work in and did it. I actually put him in the conversation with those 3 now, Drake is the pop star, Kendrick and Cole the real lyricists, and Meek is the street dude.
Ross is who you're talking about.

and Cole is no more of a lyricist than Drake is. And certainly not meek.

Cole is known as a lyricist, Drake isn't (neither is Meek)..an artist who's been proven to use writers with leaked reference tracks can never be known as a lyricist or compared to one of the better lyricists of his time. Now I'm not gona discredit everything Drake's done cause I know he's written his own shyt and is nice with it, but he's not known as a lyricist, there's no arguing that.

And Ross isn't part of the same class as Meek, Cole, and Drake, and even if he was I don't think he's shown as much growth as Meek. When Meek started (youtube freestyle days, he was bubbling in Philly long before the rest of the world knew about him) no one thought he could even make a song, Ross has been pretty much the same artist from day one.

agreed about Drake, but i think Ross' latest album showed something new we haven't seen from him, i think he's evolved as well. he's rapping about other things besides the usual stuff he was doing.

Those 4/4 tapes are some of his best work, and he's only gotten bigger since the whole Drake situation.

He's looking at big numbers with his next project no matter what.

I'm not taking a shot at Ross, just saying that he didn't NEED to grow as much as Meek. Conceptually Ross has grown, I'm talking more about technical ability in this case, in which Meek has shown more growth IMO than any artist I can remember in recent memory.

Ross' technicial ability is pretty good, i never hear his rapping at a rapid rate before but dude got sick flow. Meek washes him on a technical level.
