true. it was about him coming back and dealing with being sober. all of his albums kinda had a theme going on, most notably eminem show imo. what he could do is focus on like someone said earlier - politics/social issues (like nas's untitlted) or tell a story about someone other than himself (not hiphop, but like "american idiot" or "tommy").

Politics/Current events/Pop Culture today and his perspective on them is really all thats left to dig deeper in. He's done those tracks sparingly here and there.

Its also the expectations that people still tend to hold him too. He's not the same Eminem he was on the Slim Shady/Marshall Mathers LPs. He's 40+ and that doesnt leave much content-wise (that would be believable anyways)

How about ditch the solitude confinement lifestyle, strip him of his money and financial access, take his wallet, phone and ID cards, deliver him to San Francisco where he'll have to battle back for his spot to prove to the world that he's the real Eminem. The Bay Area will teach him to lose the shouting, drop the shock rap lyrics, mature his sound, and bring back the Slim Shady character to make a hyphy lead single for his album :troll:

well he does have the luxury of not having to be really credible or linear with his lines. perhaps he'll go off the wall and make a southern rap album. lmao.

eminem is a great rapper because of his lyrical gymnastics, tho. not to derail, just rhetorical, but does it really matter what the hell he raps about anymore?

i think his most hardcore stans aren't gonna be happy unless he pisses off some tight-asses i.e. GLAAD or congress.

concepts or not concepts his delivery is beyond trash. his voice was never great but he had the best mic presence since pac, that's gone now. all that's left is a unlistenable rappity rapper, who's stuck on corny punchlines. I mean did yal hear his verse of rihanna's album? :snoop: he needs to retire for his sake and ours.

I agree, thing is too......at this point in his career, the people he chooses to work with also have a huge hand in what he puts out at this point.

Forgot where I had read it, but No ID confirmed he was working on the album. Now how much he does, and how it sounds is anyones guess....but that sounds good to me. Dr. Dre has been :flabbynsick: for some time now. DJ Khalil was and still is at some transitional period (ever since he got down with band hes in), and Just Blaze arguably gave Em some of the weaker stuff in his discography.

i don't know how much JB did for em but 'you're never over' or whatever it was called is one of my top 10 joints from shady.

and maybe im only saying this because they are both white but eminem could do well doing some projects like action bronson has been doing. i know he's a huge artist but he could stand to just have some fun and put out something less than a major release every coupla years.

He should just say fukk it and throw something out there.....if he wasnt signed to Interscope I think he would be able to do that. Jimmy Iovine aint having it.

I think working with No ID is definitely the start of something different and I am hopeful that he gets a lot of placements. Im curious as to what he would make for Em sonically speaking.

:childplease:what else you want him to talk about..

All he has to do is spit flows and rap about chopping bodies up:yeshrug: like he usually does..

He's a real MC and he's not going to change his subject matter just cuz some kids on a hip hop forum want him to rap how they feel he should rap..go tell brotha lynch hung to rap about some political shyt..see how far that gets you

If Eminem really is a Christian now, it'd be interesting to hear how puts that into his music. Especially what brought about the transition.

Production wise, I think it would be dope if Eminem got some tracks from:

Dr. Dre- let him handle the majority. Dre's production on Relapse was dope for the most part

Timbaland- some off kilter Timbo production. Production on the level of JT's "Tunnel Vision".

Alchemist- He's been Em's DJ or whatever for some time now, so production on an Eminem album is overdue. That Em track on ALC's '09 album was dope.

No I.D.- He's laced Common, Jay, and Nas with some heat, so I'm sure he could cook up something nice for Eminem

Bangladesh- His off the wall, minimalist production would be dope on an Em album. "Kiss" from the Bad Meets Evil album was nice.

Pharrell/The Neptunes- some minimalist Hell Hath No Fury type production would be dope.

He can talk about plenty, but as an em fan it's not even really so much about some kind of grande scheme needed to make an album.

I would be just fine with an LP with mostly ALC/havoc and maybe a "single" type song here or there if even that...ill beats, ill flows, non-recovery-cringe-worthy-ycmb-esque punchlines and i'm happy...not saying some huge project wouldn't be good or couldn't be done, but the album of the year thus far (IMO) isn't the extra calculated bullshyt.

:mjpls:

An Albert Einstein type album would be FINE, any other creative things you could add around a good tight nucleus of dope/hard beats and rhymes would be icing.
