Michael Che seems to strike the right balance with his conversational style and his pro black undertones. His "all buildings matter" bit is something Kevin Hart would fire his writers for even bringing to the table. As far as ignorant shyt, Lil Duval, Deray, Corey, Deon....just to name a few are still pretty cool.
THATS who I was thinking of when I was thinking "real nikka" comedy is alive and well. Yes that brother is funny...
Along with Deon Cole (whose been grinding for years and looks like he's primed to blow)
The thing is that "real nikka" comedy isn't going anywhere. You STILL have your DL Hughley's and Cedric The Entertainer's touring and doing shows. Hell half of Netflix comedy programming is "real nikka" comedy. They are also taking about bringing back Def Comedy Jam...
Also, we need to get over this calling our own "safe" and trying to shyt on them for going mainstream. If you go mainstream in the RIGHT way and still remain true to yourself then these are the brothers we should be championing and upholding. Dave Chappelle walked away from FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS because he didn't want to sell out. His white writing partner, Neal, straight up said in an interview that Dave told him he had a responsibility towards the AA community and that Neal would never understand his position. Does that sound like a "safe" tap dancing negro to you?
Also the hate for Kevin Hart is outright ridiculous. His brand of comedy might not be for you by there is NO WAY anyone can say that that brother didn't grind. He started out right where Kat Williams and Mike Epps did, and outpaced them because Kat is crazy and Mike is too busy whining and hating to peep game. Kevin and Dave should be the blueprint for "Real nikkas" using their platform to legitimately get money while staying true to themselves.
