nikkas always cry about this, but hip hop is in a good space in my opinion. The gangster rap era is finally dying. You have alot of creative, dope, gifted artists that's a good look for Hip Hop.
TDE, MMG, Pro Era, Vince Staples, Earl, J. Cole, Cozz, Lupe, Bishop Nehru, Action Bronson, Big KRIT, Logic, etc. and some Old rappers are still putting out quality projects. I mean what more do nikkas want..Stop listening to mainstream bullshyt, there's a plethora of dope artists that's killing the game right now.

You're saying that like it's a good thing.

The greatest rappers of this genre could easily be considered gangster/hardcore rappers. Not necessarily gangsta in the a corny sense like Young Jeezy and Gucci, but rappers who respected hip hop's street roots and built it up.

The times have changed every kind of genre through out history but I think PAC and bigs deaths had a lot more to do with the decline of hiphop(in the future)than people like to admit. I still loved it up until about the ringtone era but once atl took over and the business mode went into over drive I stopped caring. I have to actually search good new talent out...back in the day it was all over the place and you could actually find it on radio!!!

Gangster rap gave us some legends, but it also gave us a bunch cartoony corny motherfukkers that watered down the genre. The more Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Joey Bada$$, etc. the better. We got rappers now that have the creative freedom to do whatever they want. nikkas need to stop bytching.

Kanye West watered down the game more than almost anyone in the last decade. He wasn't gangsta.

Watering down the game has very little to do with being gangsta or not. It simply has to do with quality/intent of music. Simple.

No. These are cartoony corny muhfukkas watering down the game.

Ummm you know Retch is from Hackensack, New Jersey right? Thats a uber safe suburb.

He just spit that corny ironic meme street shyt to entice hipster internet nerds who don't know anything about the actual geographic locations of these artists.

Still a fan tho :ehh:, but it should be pretty evident he is not about that :upsetfavre:

yeah i know he from the hack new jers but c'mon bro he spent mad time in brooklyn and the bronx too he got fam out there so no doubt he was there too

hes music isnt fake tho , i think its pretty safe to say hes no Italian mob boss but he's deffo done some dirt in his life, i can relate to his music and he's a good story teller

when Fruity Loops & Myspace popped off
Rappers release too much music. Rappers believe saturation is the best business model. It's sad actually. If meek takes 3 years off nobody will remember his name. Nobody will be asking for a new album.
Too many mixtapes and non albums. If you don't think your music is worth paying for then don't release it.

Hip Hop is still dope, your just old and a fukkkboi hater who says "back in my day, we had real music like mariah carey"
Breh, please don't act like three solid acts can singlehandedly redeem hip hop. Flick of the wrist, I'm in love with the cocoa and that Bobby Smurda are hits. That spells trouble. On the bright side, music is free.
