2. Arguable.
4. Xzibit - 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz
Which other Jay album was as lyrical as RD? Or had as many well executed conceptual records? Stuff on the level with Frien or Foe, Coming of Age, or 22 Twos? Plus the album as a whole did an exemplary job of detailing the mindstate of someone in Jays position.

40 Dayz is a great album. Some misstep on it though. p*ssy Pop. I can see your POV though...

^Blueprint or American Gangster. I say that because those two had a running concept (a theme) instead of being a group of concept records. This, as you say, does a good job detailing the mindset of someone is thier own position.

For that matter, you consider "Friend Or Foe" and "Coming Of Age" concept records?

RD was much more lyrically advanced compared to those two albums.
And Friend Or Foe and Coming of Age are definitely concept records.

That's arguable. They may be more advanced technically, but that's the Das Efx/Scarface debate.

And I consider "Friend Or foe" and "Coming Of Age" to be story raps moreso than concept records.

To me - we never heard Jay rhyme with the level of technical skill, complexity and precision that was shown on RD.

They are stories - but each told in an interesting fashion that, for me, places them in the concept category. Friend or Foe being a one sided conversation and Coming Of Age taking two verses to explain the thought process of each of the characters, then the last verse detailing the initial conversation.

You could call them idea records maybe. A record like Brooklyn's Finest for example, classic song - but they just basically rapped their asses off over a beat. There wasn't an idea or theme or structure behind the record that they had to follow.
