Cool tx, gonna watch this.
I love shyt like this.
I would love to be on that podium one day & participate in such a debate.
A far thing from debating ppl here that just insult, give partisan talking points, negs those they disagree with, smears left & right.
I dont consider this as a socialism vs capitalism debate, more of that guy's version of socialism which he really hasnt defined.
Also too much focus on employees being employers.
I would have preferred the debate to be more philosophical & covered more topics.
thats what socialism is though lol
That seems to be the problem.
Ask ten socialists what they mean by socialism and you'll get eleven answers.
And then they'll all start arguing.
Then they'll end up hating each other just as much as they hate Capitalists.
This is a tired trope
There is Marxism, Marxist-Lennism, Communism, Socialism, Dem Soc, Soc Dem, Trotsky, etc. because they all explain the world from different viewpoints
It's to the point where I'm honestly not sure if you're serious
The worst thing about social democracy is the name is under the socialism umbrella.
Bernie should have called it something else. All of this just because of the name.
Same thing with Israel, I always ask christians would you support israel as much as you do if Israel was not called Israel?
Then they give me that thousand mile look as if it's something crazy that never occurred to them.
it's almost as if people even on one end of the spectrum don't all agree on the same thing.
Clearly you were. That doesn't bode well for you.
It doesn't bode well for anyone who would like to see conservatives stop winning elections with a minority.
does this have to do with elections?
I was responding directly to someone else...which you seem to be ignoring.
And, unless you're holding out hope for the violent revolution....yes, yes it does.
no, he shouldnt change the name of it. we the people need to come out from under the rocks and actually learn what these things actually are.
there are many variations but the sort of scary, mainstream propaganda one seems to involve government running every single business, complete authoritarian control of everyone life by the government (even though this is not an economic issue but a civil liberties one so its strange to me but american propaganda for you), everyone making the exact same dollar amount of money, no private property at all, etc which some of wasnt even true in soviet russia which would be these peoples worst case scenario.
the general principle I think is having a more democratic say in the workplace, giving the people more power and wealth than just one guy at the top siphoning everything to himself or a small group of people. basically eliminating the exploitative relationship between employee and employer that is seen as the latest version of master/slave or lord/serf. someone like lennin, and other bros correct me if im wrong, thought you would transition first having the state take over. but looking at the relationship of russia, people have called it state capitalism since it still maintained the heirarchy and workers just worked for the state instead of a private employer but didnt really gain much themselves. but basically its about giving the masses more power but america acts like if you just give someone socialized medicine let alone changing the system, that youre suddenly going to lose all civil liberties and the state is going to start running all business that make consumer items and shyt. its just so much propoganda involved. its not a coherent theory to act like, oh when we try to make things more fair it leads to death. where the logical progression in that ? that stupid black book of communism counts russia killing naizis as like deaths attributed to communism its a joke. but all the imperialism by capitalist nations is not counted towards some capitalistic body count
